Actually, I went that way for a bit, for role-playing...
I still think BH missions are the best-done missions in the game. You have a target, you use your specific skills to find the mission, and you then use combat to complete the mission. As I've said, I think that basic template would be good inspiration for Ranger-style missions against creatues (or-- even better, poachers!!!) where we would have to use tracking and traps and such to beat a tough creature. Ahh...that would be so cool.
By the way, I have a confession of my own--- I now am in Jackson Hole, and I have to say, Calc...;you got a nice state, here. Though I will say the ratio of cows to people is too many. Seriously, when a town's population triples when you count the cattle, you know yiou have a problem. Although, I will say I am looking forward to some fresh burgers.

I've been contemplating the unthinkable as well. Unfortunately, it means a massive reworking of my character. The goal, of course, is to take advantage of Commando/Grenades to accelerate the Force Sensitive grind. Before embarking on such a massive restructuring, I have acquired some crates of C12's to see how it goes without commando.
My current template: Master Swordsman, Master Ranger, Master Scout, Brawler 2-0-4-0
Path one to Commando: Master Scout, Ranger 0-4-0-0, Swordsman 0-0-1-0, Brawler 4-0-4-0, Master Marksman, Commando 3-0-0-0
This path allows me to retain some Swordsman, and the camping line of Ranger which having just completed I have no interest in running through another time. In order to make in skill points, I intend to take away from Ranger first (retaining Swordsman as backup / combat xp generator), then pull from Swordsman as Marksman is filled up and Commando embarked upon.
Path two to Commando: Master Swordsman, Brawler 4-0-4-0, Master Marksman, Commando 3-0-0-0, Scout 4-2-0-4
This path would allow me to retain Master Swordsman, at the cost of removingRanger entirely and a good portion of Scout goes by the wayside as well.Benefits hereare that on the regrind path, I begin from a position with Master Swordsman backing up my huntingprowess, which should make finishing Scout and getting back into Ranger not too hard. There is that long survival line though.

Well I'll toss my hat into the crowd of possible drops as well, although I'm leaning toward total reroll. The Skill Point investment is a heavy load that I'm not sure I wish to bear any more. The reroll is from my desire to actually play a human. Something that in all my years of Star Wars gaming and various MMORPG's that I have yet to do.
Plus it has the added bonus of getting me away from the "surging" side of the force and back to the "Force? Like Gravity? Magnetism?" side of things. That thing on the horizon has me thinking of other templates and a fresh start sounds like a good idea.

Hmmm....JB hasn't posted in the Ranger forum since I said I picked up BH. Do you suppose I broke him?

If I were you I would wait on any singular exodus until we see what for sure the GCW will do to all professions. I have been a ranger within in a couple of weeks of SWG going live since I started when it went live. Well, I actually started five or six months before that in Beta and was a Ranger then also. LOL
