Thread: Ghost Planets....
I took my first trip to Dantooine about 3 weeks ago. It blew my mind, landing in the Imperial Outpost, all I heard was blaster fire and monsters howls! The overall atmosphere as I left the outpost was that my back was against the wall and /con red mobs were everywhere, no chance to solo, and death to a noob group. Ranger Heaven!
Now, I still frequent Dant. but it is not at all the same. I havent even advanced all that much in any of my skills, the creatures are still just as hard... but lemme tell ya they are few and far between compared to my earlier trips. I never even thought of the possiblity of spawns based on player traffic but this is clearly the case, groups abounded weeks ago now, maybe 5-10 ppl at most are around the outpost now.
This is very distressing to me... on previous trips i expected to die at least 10 times an hour (im a crazy hunter, what can i say), now with the decreased mob spawns i rarely die once an hour. It may seem wierd to say this, but the reason I travel to "advanced" planets is for the challenge, not to see different flora and fauna!

/agree with all above posters. I've experienced the void outside of the towns on all advanced planets and am ver disheartened..
I was actually, very excited about the new are track skills and its application out in the wilderness. However, since i've gotten it, and been using it a fair distance from town, i'd say 90% of the time it comes up empty
As a note, I have read that the spawns are related to traffic and that either running in a broad circle, or making a camp for a while ( as if we dont have enough downtime already, now i have downtime just to find something to fight !
) should spawn some mobs..
This is both very lame, and quite unacceptable. It has begun to take away all the joys of exploring ![]()
Plz plz fix this a.s.a.p !!!!
I agree, I will take explore missions and travel from one city to another (on foot) looking for lairs, before sept 8th I didnt have to go very far before I would run across1 or2 lairs near each other. Now I have to go several thousand miles to find half as many lairs.
Plus now that we get so little in what we harvest I dont sell much any more, I need most of what I get just to build traps, camps, etc.
I remember the excitement of exploring Endor a few weeks ago, my whole radar was covered with red and yellow dots, I had to move very slow, pick which lairs to walk through and usually follow rivers for added safety. It was a challenge and something only a Ranger (or maybe a Master Scout) would have a chance at. Now the planet is empty and just a boring wasteland, not worth the trip unless you're a Creature Handler looking for a new pet :/
The spawn within range also negates our /areatrack skill. We can sit down and do a track and find nothing within 500m then start moving and within a few meters a lair spawns.
I sure hope they change it back.

I'll add to this, hunting Dath at prime time 2 nights ago and the 1km ring was heaving. I LD anddecide to leave it for the night, log on 12hrs later I autoran a direct line back to the base no steering required and only 2 distant spawns.
If it isn't fixed soon people will exhaust all the high level content in a matter of days.
"Creatures should spawn all over the planet, regardless of how many people are walking around in the area."
If a tree falls in the woods, and no one is around... Does it still make a sound? ![]()

If no one is around to observe the critter, there is no reason to expend valuable server processing power on them.
The approach they used was clever... Only spawning critters if a player isnearby.
It just needs a little tweaking to make it work better. ![]()
