Has any other "exploring" type Ranger here noticed the lack of "mobs" on the big, bad andugly planets of Endor, Yavin, Dathomirand Lok??

I mean Big, Bad and Ugly in the sense that these planets were made to keep the beginning player off them.

That these planets were a haven, a place for a Ranger to actually USE the abilities we were given.

Now these planets over the last week and a half, have slowly become the new "destination hot spot" for any joe with a gun and pet.

Before, Endor had the biggest and baddest creature fights around the Galaxy.

Now I can travel from one side to the other and see maybe 1/8th of the "mobs" I had before.

Yavin, Dathomirand Lok the same way.

/Maskscent and /conceal are not even needed, cause you can take 30secs extra and just waltz around the SINGLE lair that spawns in your way and keep on going.

No, I am not against others coming there, but it has gotten to the point that the solo player, groups of 2-4 people coming, don't even bother having to worry about having a Ranger to help /conceal them on these supposedly "deadly planets".

I watched last night on Endor a group of 4...

Master Artisan with a Scout Blaster, Novice Commando with a flame thrower, Novice Combat Medic with a FGW5, and a CH.

They grabbed missions and headed out... I just out wandering around looking for a new "wood" spot for my harvesters and come across them.

They were killing a Borgle lair, which was great for them... but I was curious... did /areatrack....

500m surrounding that area..... FOUR Latern Birds 320m to the east... THAT is all!!!

A week and half ago, these "intrepid" adventurers wouldn't have DARED step foot on Endor for fear of getting eaten alive. Now it is just like hunting on Naboo or Corellia or Tatooine in the newbie areas... There really is no "danger" about something spawning, wandering or coming up on you.

I know, I sound bitter, but it has nothing to do with these players. It is the Dev team giving us something (/conceal) but then going and nerfing the PLANETS we are "suppose" to excel and give us some value to groups on.

Before, maybe, JUST maybe it was a little to much, but now it is like Ghost Towns on these planets where it concerns mobs. More and more people who have little to no business being there are showing up every day and night and wandering out and back into the outposts with little to no damage or worries.

Yes, these planets have some of the highest paying missions. That was for a reason!!! They were DEADLY places to travel and adventure on... Now we are back to the "walk in the park" take your 2 missions, walk out with nothing but your mission spawned and rake in the dough....

Bah, guess I am bitter, that someone(s) whined enough the Devs nerfed these planets...

I used to have FUN just going out, /maskscenting and WATCHING, stand watching the HUGEST, BADDEST creature fights in the galaxies. I am talking 100+ "mobs" fighting in a battle-royal... That to me, made Star Wars fun, to go out, watch something that players were not having a hand in "destroying".

I even took some friends out and showed them lead them around and get oohs and ahhs... not now

Ahh, sorry rambling, just upset cause another thing Sony /giveth, they /taketh away.

Gave us /conceal (not that it works well) but then they nerf to heck the planets spawn rate.

I'm with ya, Lyllian. Until a couple weeks ago, I never visited any of the advanced planets. But I have spent some time each day on Endor, and I can attest that people wander there freely and with good reason. Mereks, Arachnids, Hanadak, even in the few weeks that I've been on Endor I've seen the numbers reduced. All I see now are Pubams, since everyone is taking Pubam missions now.

But I will say that I was disappointed when I first went to Endor. That was actually about a month ago, when the jax speed exploit was all the rage. I went from the research outpost down to the ocean, wandered the ocean line for about 20 minutes, then came back up the eastern mountain range. i did't see anything. not a single animal, until i had ascended into the mountains and was about 2km north of the ocean front.

My BE on Shadowfire gets all her DNA from Endor. That's sad, if you ask me, that a meek little bio engineer can wander around Endor freely, not even bother to clone, get high level DNA, and return without a scratch.

I explored Dathomir for the first time a few days ago. Desolate. I ran SW from the southern outpost for about 20 minutes. There were some reptilian fliers near the op, but the farther away I got, the fewer and far between the wildlife became. It was so disappointing. I have yet to return to Lok for fear that the same fate has befallen it as well.

You hear us SOE? De-nerf the advanced planets!!

And Dantooine to the list as well. I left the northern outpost on the planet...ran about 1k dodging some creatures and lairs....and I got past that 1k + range...I had about another 4k left to where I was going. I put it on autorun and hit nothing at all till i finally got to my destination. about a solid 4k of nothing anywhere at all.

I did stop and do the area track...nothing. It gave me a message saying I was unable to locate any tracks around ..or something like that. What gives?

I don't think it's a nerf guys...

I was on Talus and Rori a week ago (?) and it was the same way for a while... I think they are back to normal now. Maybe it's a resource shift issue?

Just a thought...

I agree with you about Lok, you just need to pass the mission spawn ring, and then... the void
Nada, nulla, niet
Only a droideka guarding a broken bridge, about 6k away from nym's fort

But, on Dathomir I've noticed there's more life around... yeah, you have always areas with nothing around, but yesterday, going with a Master CH aroung for a Rancor taming session, we went from trade outpost to imperial prison and then to science outpost, and we had to pass a lot of lairs and spwan point, at most nightsisters, but also brackasets kwi, rancors, a pair of graul families and spiders...

I think that maybe, this strange spawning system SWG is using works presence also, so, the more ppl coming, the more mobs spawning...

BTW, never been on Endor, Yavin & Dantooine yet

Supposedly, creatures willstartspawning when their is traffic (i.e., players) in the area. So, Start Running in Circles for fifteen minutes. Anyways, I think this is the lamest **edit**ing thing yet. So much for being a Ranger/Explorer.

This is not recent. I was on Lok weeks ago and the the area around the Base was thick with aggro. Once we got beyond about 1.5KM it was barren.

- I agree. I've have also noticed fewer spawns out in the boonies.

- It seems to have returned to the pre "August 13" patch levels.

- Previous to the first big patch, the spawns were rather few and far between.

- After August 13th however, I did register an significant increase in non-mission spawns on Naboo.

- Since the September 8th patch however, I have noticed a reduction back to those levels. The problem may have started earlier, but I had just arrived on Lok at that time.

- The developers may be testing a new server load limit to reduce latency, or something might have gone horribly horribly wrong... I'm not sure.

Late last week, I was on Dathomir (is that the right one?) exploring looking for graul maulers for my CH friend ( he was going to get me one for when I got high enough to use one also ). I ran around the "graul valley" from the rebel outpost to the northern edge of the world over the course of 2 hours using areatrack a lot and didn't see one single spawn of anything. Not one!!! Before that, in the valley encircling the norhtern outpost, I ran for about 30 minutes down the middle of the valley and saw nothing until WHAM!!! maskscent breaks, Rancor warps on top of me, I'm dead and my pet is DB'd seconds later, all this with some of the best ping times I've ever seen and "command response time" really good, so there is NO lag issue as far as I'm concerned. I could even stop running and /forage without "you cannot forage while running."

I was there yesterday at 10 PM EST and it was quite empty. I was there this morning at 10 AM and you couldn't swing a dead bordock without hitting something. It was jam packed.

And, oh yes, my maskscent broke on a borgle life sucker that was 70 meters away and it came out and killed me. You know, their attack range is more like 35 meters, but because it suddenly noticed a human 70 meters away it just had to come kill me. Yay! Only times I got jumped that day were when maskscent failures turned rock smashers and borgles so rabid they had to get to me from over 65 meters away.

I noticed this for a while now .

You have an asteroid belt of monsters , NpC's and lairs all around every city or outpost with a mission terminal , then once you penetrate that thick belt of creatures you have absolutely NOTHING around for miles and miles and miles . I went from the outer edge of the belt on Lok allllllll the way down to the Imperial Base at the bottom of the map and ya know how many other " living " beings I encountered ? None . Zippo , zilche . The big goose egg . Way to immerse SOE .

Way to be

Before they did the close spawn change it was a hellish chore to get to my mission on Lok. With the creature density greatly reduced now I'm as worried as I would be on Tatooine. I admit that I do like less creature density cause it enables me to explore planets faster, but I believe that some more density should be provided to maintain the challenge on adv. planets.
