Forgot to add:
When I was hologrinding, I did DE and made a cople of the stim droids for testing purposes. They diddn't work very well. You can only use stim A's and you need to target the droid and use the radial dial to request the stims. I would onlyrecommend one if you don't havenovice medic.

I solo hunt almost 90% of the time. I stay within my limits, and use a HTFB. For battle fatigue, a quick run into a town, watch the girls, and run back out. As of late I have been helping some noobs, and most of them have novice medic.

Real Rangers do not need armor, or doc buffs.
Real Rangers either pop camp or have novice medic.

I use a pet to tank, then just heal him while I chip away with my ranged weapon.

Reading through I can see a big difference in style between rifles and melee rangers.

I can accept being melee means I'm not a "real" ranger, but I don't think I could get far without some armour.
I used to have novice medic but it was slow healing and I was being battered in the meantime: I pefer the better combat and less damage approach. It works against bigger beasts where novice medic didn't heal fast enough.
I use camps to heal wounds and to recover that bit faster between fights. If I was riflewoman I'd probably take novice medic, but I like fencer!

I mastered rifleman and ranger so that didnt leave a whole lot of wiggle room.
So I dropped ranged support 2-4 and picked up novice medic.
Now I usually only pull out camps to hangout or admire my handy work

And for those who are curious, I did melee ranger, for a while anyhow.
No armor, no buffs.
and lived to tell the tale.

I was a TKM/Master Ranger and fought unbuffed a lot. It was a matter of knowing your enemy. And putting the knucklers away. Since they are huge HAM hogs. I havemy stats setto be heavy on regen instead of straight HAM. It helps recovery. Also if your a melee person talk to a Tailor about getting a whole outfit made with +4 Melee defense panels. This will mean dumping your backpack for a bandolier. Or look for a lightweight military backpack which will give you the same benefits. With that i was +16 to melee defense on top of TKM. Add the +10 from master ranger and i was pretty safe from a lot of attacks.
Now im a Master CH/MR and i just let the pets do the dirty work while i do pistoleer from the back.

I TRY to keep from getting hurt, but of course, stuff happens.
I don't worry about wounds until I see a BIG chunk of black bars, then I pull out a camp and read the forums.
Otherwise, I just keep going.
I am usually too worried about my Pets' health than my own and go through Petstims like crazy.

I am a novice medic, who has a doctor friend, who makes decent stim Bs. I hate wearing armor, as you about have to be buffed, so I don't wear any.
I was well into brawler 4 when I realized I did not like being hit by every hairy Tom in the area. So i went back to pistols.
No, I was not killing Chunkers in Dearic, I was taking on real animals - well, as real as they get, and winning. Didn't have to pull my pistol too many times.
TK is for some, not for me. Altho fencer/swords is looking cool.
