If they where really going to "fix" the game they wouldn't have fundementaly changed the combat system in the first place.
If large scale alpha/beta testing would have caught the kind of problems that this "upgrade" is "fixing", we wouldn't have these problems in the first place.
New sytem = new problems. Most likey on the same scale as the ones we have now. Maybe even worse.
This is about making it easy for morons to understand the game quickly = better conversion rates from Trial programs, less people playing the game for a month cause they can't rap their heads around the basics.
If they could get away with making crafting "easy to understand, hard to master" you know they would.

Well, apparently the Alpha testing was done by devs and is over. Also Beta will start soon. so basically SOE, in order to make up for lost time, and now ina *gasp*RUSH to complete the CU, just blew threw Alpha without players or Corrs, and is moving onto Beta.
what a shock /rolleyes
