Bet you can't wait to burn that NDA.

If it makes you feel any better I'm under seven NDAs as we speak. Of course no one cares about the stuff I can't talk about

And you wont be able to use your TC character i believe fresh start and all. There will be frogs at some stage though but more focused towards specific areas.

From TH's post announcing that TC was going all Curby it looks as if we'll be testing from the ground up.

Starting with novice marksman and brawler skills and how they 'feel'. How easy/hard they are to learn. How easy/difficult progression is, etc.

What I will be doing, as a novice marksman, is going out to see how easily I can splat kreetles. If I can't harvest from kills SOON I'm going to be ticked.

Interaction with other professions looks as if its a wee bit down the line. Not sure how I feel about this yet as, as ever, we don't have enough information to make a rational judgement. Yet.

Im thinking along the lines of you can go up any profession currently in game in the early stages and i think we will need to test the scout/combat interactions extensively to see how our scout progresses in line with our new combat rating as they are so closely dependent.

I was under the impression that Alpha already happened and had just ended. I didn't get an invite either, but just assumed that it was because I wasn't one of the ones randomly chosen.

As far as who's fault this is, look at Lucas all the way. He told SOE that he wants this CU to coincide with the Wookiee expansion and Ep 3. SOE had no choice but to push the CU out, ready or not. Don't expect to get a good CU, and I'm sure when it goes live everyone will post about how they're quitting and how SOE is the worst company in the gaming industry. Just remember, it's not SOE's fault this time. Lucas has the final word on all his games, no matter who develops or releases them. And Lucas wants the CU out right now.

With the fresh start on TC for the CU testing, is the current 'world' being backed up or just junked? Several of us had been on leveling here and there for the GRMs, and the kits had started to be handed out, etc. If it's going to be wiped not much point continuing with that really. If it's being backed up I may play on TC a bit more 'till the CU gets uploaded, then I can just continue once CU hits live and the TC servers are restored.

Any ideas?

Backed up. Its called mothballing and basically means the TC database is being stored. In this case the TC as we know it was stored yesturday.

We will use the TC hardware for the CU but not the TC databse. Once testing is over, the TC database will be coming back.

Oh, and most of us alpha testers didnt even realise the alpha had started until it was over. Thats the thing that has pissed everyone off. We couldnt of been told about the annoucment a long time ago, but instead they waited until the eve of the testing to say the alpha is over.

We signed up for testing, not looking over documents for a day or two. We should of been told of the change in Alpha Purpose but we wernt.

I'm lazy, so use the Admin Tracker. GarVa said he believes it'll go live Today.

For those of you that have played on the TC servers before (I have not) I have a question.

I read TH's comments and instructions for the accessing the TC, do I understand correctly that this is fairly straightforward and that it is easy to switch back and forth between TC and Live?

Yes bud.

Its very straight forward to install tc. Basically you press it and it makes a copy of your live folder. After that you start up tc and download the patch to bring it in line with what iscurrently on tc.

As for swtiching between the two. Again very easy.

I have two icons, onefor swg, one for swg:test. The first starts up the normal launchpad, the second starts up the tc launchpad. You dont need two icons however, you can simply log intoyour normal launchpad, then click thetest center button at the bottom and it will start your tc launchpad automatically and you go from there.

Understand that TC and Live are more or less two seperate gamesin differentfolders (once you choose your installation destination) sotreat them as completely differentgames or versions of the game.

Yes it is. I've only used TC a bit and it was pretty straight forward to both get into it and to switch back. Just be ready for a big fat download.
