Thread: Let me clear something up
You have to add the word solo to list it's "Pacifist Solo Ranger/Scout", as I'm sure that if I wanted to play it that way, I could have easily still gotten to master ranger just by going out with one friend and letting him do allthe damage (which would increase his combat skills faster too)
Seems like we are splitting Hairs again
Or is that spliting Hares....
To me a Pacifst Ranger is one that does not want to see any creatures Harmed. A Non-Combatant Ranger will let someone else do the killing.
My point is, there are two trees that usescouting XP. Hunting and Exploring. Right now only Hunting type actions are rewarded. Very little can be gained via exploring.

Nice catch on the pacifist part, for if you were truely a pacifist, you' be out there /resuceing all of the animals I'm trying to kill. I still don't know how you'd get to Ranger Trapping1 to get /rescue without watching animals die and skinning them... maybe you could maskscent for all your xp if they putthat back in, but you still need to be a convert to even get that far.
gustavef, meet me in-game after the patch and I'll let you get 60% of all the leviasqualls you care to harvestwithoutyou having to fire a shot![]()
Next question: Are you a combatant or non-combatant when you throw traps? If you couldn't tell, I like to split hares and hairs... it's part of what makes life interesting ![]()
One little thing to keep in mind:
The journey to Master is the fun part. Not the getting there.
You may now flame the crap out of me.

Hear, hear, Delta!
I am happy that there is a Ranger profession because I'm delighted that I can continue to develop my skills in this "line" of skills. I wonder if they will institute an elite-elite class in the future because frankly, I'm not sure what I'd do with myself once I reach Master Ranger. Heh.
It would be very hard to argue that the current path to Ranger is NOT easy. It had to be changed. I agree though that the journey is a huge factor in the fun part and was just kidding with the above comment.
"Keeping the journey going is easy. Just delete your skills after you get them. They you can stay on the journey as long as you wish."
ROFL. I think I'll keep my Master Ranger and devote my energies on developing other skills before I decide to untrain my ranger skills... once I get the other skills such as rifleman and CH where I want them, then I'll take a look at what they do with BF and camps before I start thinking about untraining Master and the Frontiering line. ![]()
