I totally support the changes. Camping xp is way too annoying where scouting xp is easy to come by. Just passively working up pistols and CH I got more then enough scouting xp from harvesting passively to reach Master Ranger.

XP changes going to be too hard? I think not.

Trapmaster - took me two days. Maxed at 80k xp beyond master.

Hunt Master - Two weeks

Level 3 Wayfaring - 1.5 weeks

Level 2 Camping - 2 weeks.

And it would be waaaaay harder to unlearn skills from Rangers than to simply increase XP requirements for unchecked boxes.

It is easier for Ranged combat Rangers to get scouting XP then an equaly skilled Melee combat Ranger since Marksmen can solo higher level Mobs compaired to the Brawler of equal skill level. For Example, with Expert 1 Hand (Level III) I could only consitantly solo Ikopi, nightspiders and similar creatures at 55 scouting XP each. At Expert Pistol (level III) I solo Kaduu (111 to 137 scouting XP).

Now I made Master Ranger with minor CH skills and Fencer SKills. I just recently picked up pistol.

So Scouting XP is as easy as your Combat effectiveness. For eqaul skill Marksmen are more effective in combat the Brawlers. The underlieing issue is that Melee by it self is very ineffiecent combat style. You need some Pets or Ranged Combat support to make it work, without a lot of down time. On the flip side less down time means less Camping/Survial XP.

Trying to Solo Melee only is very difficult. The issues the Melee Rangers will have with Scouting XP are realy issues with Solo Melee v Solo Ranged effectiveness. Which is (IMO) a much larger issue. Address that and the change to scouting XP affecting the Melee Ranger more then the Ranged Ranger is moot.

I'm all for keeping finished boxes. Up the XP for unfinished ones. Those of us that started Ranger ASAP should keep what we have earned. Other factors made it tough enough. *remembers connecting to galaxy....server is loading....midnight and 2am sudden crashes*

My reply to Yoda and those who feel the way Yoda does, while it may not be the best reply, is simply this...I'd rather be in the game, playing and /bug(ging) my ass of than waiting another year for it to come out.

Would I have liked the XP boost without some trade off? Nope.

Is it a fair trade off for the XP wewill gain from making traps and camps? I think so. However, think of all those people hung up on skills instead of playing the gamewho will macro trap and camp crafting to gain scouting XP. You call it a nerf, I call it a possible exploit in the making.

Is the ranger profession complete after the recent changes are made and patched up? NO. This whole **edit** game will never, ever be finished because MMORPGS are always works in progress. What today's dev team does may be totally redone by tomorrow's team. The changes may not be for the better.

The real question is, was the game developed to an acceptable level to open it up to the general public? I believe it was. Now that it has been opened up, I think that XP may need to be adjusted upward. Don't shoot me with a laser carbine for saying that, but it only took me 2 1/2 weeks of playing a few hours a day to master scout and marksman. I'm an experienced MMORPer, but come on! I didn't even use power leveling techniques or exploits. The game might be too easy right now.

Gotta run.
