MD5 hash checks on startup against a master server is one way to make things a lot harder for launchpad being hacked. There are other methods and have been employed in numerous games such as UT2K3, and others.

IMHO, I'd love to see /conceal by a MR in a HTFBK "hide on radar" the group that's underneath the canopy. It's not a matter of "disappearing radar blips" as everything's on screen and can be targeted and if launchpad is the number one problem for hacking client-side files (which I don't see considering the radar and on-screen are synchronizations of the server to the client), then we need to make sure it's not easily guessable in the line of hacking. Will never happen, but would be nice to see.
