Yup, it shows a little movement on their aprt and that's a huge improvement in itself.

Owen I find it hard to post the proper words to express how proud I am of all the work you and Calc have done on our behalf. This is the first step in the right direction for the Ranger profession. Here's to more success for Rangers. A pint on me.

woot cheers you know how to please me hehe /gulp pint.

Just a reminder. A big ago i submitted a report with loads of questions on it at the bottom. Tiggs said she would help me out getting them answered and sent it around the dev team to get feedback for me to present to you. Because of the stability issues on tc things have obviously been busy as hell over there so no feedback as of yet. Once that settles down im hoping we will have that feedback to present to you.

/fingerscrossed.

With adjusted CL comes the ability to take on higher level creatures. Without the Combat skills to do anything though we're stuck.
You may not take as much damage, but you might also not deal enough to really make it worthwhile. I'm very happy to see health being added to the profession!
Lets just check and make sure it doesn't hurt us by creating a situation where we "mis-con" in the process.

That's a good point, but also remember that your CL affects the amount of damage you deal.

So, with a higher CL, rangers would hit harder with whatever one elite combat profession we choose, and we also receive less damage. (Assuming you have an elite combat profession)

As for conning wrong.. that's a weird side effect of this new level system and having 2-3 professions count towards your total combat level. A 4004 marksman could easily kill a blue con sevorrt with his rifle, but using his fists as 0000 brawler, it still cons blue to him -- even though the womp rat will likely incap him.

Something that would help us out until a revamp would be melee and ranged defense mods spread out through the ranger tree. If they give us the CL, I wouldn't be surprised to see added melee/ranged defense mods instead of just the small amount we currently have at the master box. (Doctor and other professions have also gotten these mods in the CU, along with the increased CL)

Right, but weapons are part of that... if you're not certed to a high enough weapon it could be problematic.

With the things that are changing in regards to CL and weapons cert though who knows, my point simply is that its something that will still require our attention.

I don't want to get sidetracked because Ranger got something they were asking for.

I am very relieved right now. I can start concentrating more on general testing I think, but there are things that still need a weary eye.

We need some of that general speed that is getting passed out. Not Like you would spend 140 SP to be a 1337 Ranger stacker.

If you look at the way the mods work in the CU, it is more about stacking now, than it was. We could use a bit of help in that way.

I don't mean to nitpick but does a increase in CL automatically mean a increase in our health bar, I can't remember reading anything that said that the increase in CL is directly linked to the health increase.

Even if it isn't getting the Dev's to recognise that we are a combat profession and increase our CL with our Ranger/Scout skills is a major break through

CL is what ups your health bar, no question about that. CL also modifies damage taken.

None of that is speculation at this point it time.

I've not seen any numbers on how it modifies your damage output. I've not personally seen any huge changes just based on CL.

Now we push for some mods. We already get deffences, we need speed

Also in the chat it came up that there will be some weapons that will be certed only by CL, so we'll have some of those opened to us. I don't know that we will care, but we will need to pay atention to them at least a bit.
