according to GreenMarine who was the scout/ranger Dev awhile back, this is getting fixed in Publish 20.

EH? What? You're CL11, with a trapping mod of 5.... what in the name of all that's precious are you doing in here whinging that you can't get a bit of trapping XP???

Drop some of your SCOUT xp based skills down, no point putting a dink in what little combat mods you get from marksman, so as to lower your CL by 5, get your but out the back of Eisley starport with the rest of the starter toons and fling some traps at the rats and lizards in the hill back there.

Don't harvest ANY of them till you're ready to level up again or you'lll lose the little XP you've got banked.

Want to get some more trap XP? Go speak to some of the newbs in the starport and take them hunting in the hills. Let them shoot, you trap. Don't do ANYTHING but trap. Don't go back to town until you've capped out your trapping XP and concentrate on filling the first couple of boxes before starting to level anything up again.

Jings, but from you're original post I'm thinking 'ah, novice rifles, novice ranger, CL50's and stuck...

Thats why he posted it man, he did know what the heck he was doing. But i think we got him squared away now.

And I would actually advice you to get up to lvl 10 or so. Then get you a good comabt droid, have it attack the critter while u trap it.

Or if you havn't used your respec yet now is a good time lol. Grind up the easy exp, like marksman, brawler, & scout. Then reapec every bet of it into traps.
