Thread: London
My heartfelt prayers go out to everyone in London, or anybody who knows somebody there.
It is my hope that one day we can know a world without this sort of rash action.

I surely do hope people are allright... It saddens me to no end that these things still take place...
On the other hand, it makes my blood boil with anger towards those people who show such a disrespect to live... I shouldn't call them people, but animals, and like crazed animals, they should be hunted down and put out of their misery.
you are insulting crazed animals.
my heart goes out to the Londoners. It's things like this that make me want to go back to the sandbox.
To be fair, Religions themselves do not promote such violence. The Koran is only 500 verses long, and nowhere does it state that this sort of action would be good, acording to the readings of most of the Muslims. Extremist groups will always skew religious texts to meet their goals. Much like some people attempted to use the Bible to support the mistreatment of African-Americans, this is generally a small group of people who abuse the religious texts which promote peace in order to justify their actions. Do not let the actions of some make you judge others by their standards.

Guess this thread will get locked or deleted too now.
If it continues in the direction of a religious discussion, it should be.
You have a point... I apologize to those crazed animals....

Sorry, I haven't heard about this event, and I didn't mean for this thread to get locked.
You can edit out my post now.
Found it on Bloodfin.

I just got this off a news website
A SERIES of terrorist blasts ripped through central London today leaving scores of casualties.
Eye-witnesses reported seeing bodies piled in the wreckage of damaged Tube trains.
A double decker bus packed with people forced off the underground when the network was shut down was ripped apart by a massive blast.
Eyewitnesses said there were many fatalities.
The onslaught came as world leaders including Tony Blair and US President Bush were meeting in Scotland for the G8 summit.
As the scale of the attack became clear ministers attending the regular Thursday cabinet meeting convened an emergency Cobra committee to deal with the crisis.
The terror attacks began with a series of co-ordinated blasts on the Tube network.
Emergency services rushed to rescue trapped passengers.
At Liverpool Street Station in the City, the wounded were treated by medics as they lay on the concourse.
The Hilton Metropole on the Edgware Road was used as a makeshift treatment centre.
Explosion
There were unconfirmed reports that several people had died on the bus in the Russell Square area.
There were reports that more than one bus had blown up, but Scotland Yard said it was only dealing with one bus explosion.
Mainline stations were closed and Tube and bus services were cancelled across the city.
Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Ian Blair said there had been at least six explosions, but said the picture was still "very confused".
There was no official death toll but survivors of blasts at Edgware Road station and between Aldgate and Liverpool Street reported seeing piles of bodies.
Police at the scene of the bus blast also said several people had died.
The Prime Minister was preparing to make a live televised statement on the explosions, Downing Street said
The blasts were initially blamed on a power surge but it soon became clear that it was a co-ordinated terrorist attack on the capital.
The G8 gathering had prompted fears of a terrorist spectacular.
The scale of the explosions and the disruption it has caused the capital's transport network is bound to provoke comparisons with the al Qaida attacks on the Madrid railway network.
Home Secretary Charles Clarke said there have been "terrible injuries" from a "number of dreadful incidents" across London.

My thoughts and prayers for London as well. No one should have to live in fear like that.
But outside of one person threatning to derail this thread. We are probaly the only unlocked thread of this type. So lets keep it civil and keep our hearts in the right place. Its not a time of hatred. Its a time to worry about people you don't know, in a country most of us have never been to.
Especially since we have fellow Rangers over there as well. With luck Owen was out of the country on one of his drinking tours.
That was not my intention. I do not know how to have an opinion on such issues other than repeating exactly what everyone else has been. I wanted to say something different, but I have not seen the reports. All I have to go on are the information that I posted within my previous reply, and I have also edited out my original comment.
I am not threatening anyone, so please do not label it as such even in jest. I am slightly aloof when it comes to issues such as this.
I opened the thread up knowing that we have a surprisingly large number of UK based rangers, some of whom live/work in or near London and almost all of whom will have friends or relatives whomtheir thoughts will be with today. We live on a really small island even if those of us 'away up here in the North' sometimes think that the other end of the island is the back end of the world (distance wise).
I've spent much of the day reading mail from friends and colleagues who work in/around the area affected and it's been good to see the sort of support we've expressed here going out to each other.
Just heard an interview on the news with some of the bus drivers and, as they put it, they're already back at work, tomorrow all the bus drivers will be out there again, "London won't be beaten". Even gave my old aunt a call, she lives very close to one of the stations that was hit. Her response "Oh we've put up with worse..."
Dunno if they're tough as old boots, or just bonkers in the nut
Best wishes to you all,
remember to be nice to your friends and family, eh?
