Thread: CU: General Testing

Yea... you know the dangers of the energy firing creatures out there...
/sarcasm off
It might have as much to do with concerns regarding movement speed. If the assult armor makes you move very slowly then it would be impractical for a ranger.

Absolutely! I'm just trying to raise a flag here because, based on the non-tested info/desciptions, this seems counter-intuitive and illogical to me.

Yeah, I need to go reread the armor Doc...I never did read what they posted to the live Doc. I may be working on old info.

Aragorn (or anyone), just for kicks create a new toon on live and follow the green droid instructions for scout. I am pretty sure 2-5 units per critter is normal. I've started... many... novice scouts and I think I remember having to kill like four or five rills before I had enough hide and bone to make a basic camp. The final droid quest for scout - collect 80 hide - is one of the hardest of the profession quests.
Funny you say that... I had actually started up a new toon on Wanderhome last week (a leexard -hmmm... maybe I'm seeing the harvest bonus for them, d'oh!!!) just for kicks. Going scout / TK at the moment. It sure SEEMS like I was still pulling more (2-5 units or so as you mention) per critter. This morning on TC5 I was only getting like 1-2 units per critter, which "felt" low. Who knows what the "adjustment" of creature levels or what not for noobs on Tatooine has done tho, Calc just mentioned this in a different thread - might be entirely possible that creatures that are level 1 / equal to me are only going to have a VERY low yield. I'll test some more when I get back on, I'm still just novice scout / novice marksman on TC5.
I'll maybe start up a basic human on another server to compare to TC5-Dekiion and see how noob harvesting compares. I'll try and get some hard numbers tonight to post.

Hopefully this will be a part of the droid tutorial when the droids come back.
And as for the no queue to ditch spaming attacks... is not much more fun having to baby sit spaming one button... the low level of Rifles isn't any kind of fun thus far... starting with one attack? Novice Marksman started you with three before... and they all had a place.
Range mods gone... I hit just as well moving too...
I wasn't expecting to Love the CU but I wasn't expecting to hate it.
Oh well I'll keep trying. As is stands leveling Rifles is about as hard as it was before. Scout on the other hand. I stoped wasing my time harvesting. I guess I'll just worry about Scout once I can at least pwn nunas.
maskscent isnt' working atm. You get no scout XP from it. I have /bugged this, but have also asked that they confirm if this IS a bug, is 'as intended' or is simply down to the CURRENT creature behaviour changes in the early test cycle.
So, for now, tho I'm bugging it, I don't want you getting all wigged out over it until we know if it IS a bug. If otoh it is a nerf, I'll be outside Theed starport handing out the pitchforks and burning torches.
Second bit:
After 'about' 12 hours of play I'm now Scout 2111 / Marksman 3112. I have CL5 (tho if I concentrate on getting Range Support up to 4, apprently that'll have me sat as CL7.
I can now fairly rip through the newbie yard trash, oddly enough I do better with my pistol and carbine skills than with rifles (too slow). Anything up to CL4 is 'easy'. Anything = my CL is a little more challenging, +2 is getting silly, anything more than +2 over my CL is pretty much suicide.
Harvesting is proving to be a lot slower than I'd like, but am hoping that'll improve now I can kill several creatures then harvest, then kill another batch.
Having said that I feel that while the harvest rate/kill is about the same, the kill rate seems awfully slow. If youneed to heal you lose a combat turn, if you get incapped the blighter heals!
OK, all this is prolly in the wrong thread entirely, but am rushing to get out and blah blah blah
- Camo packs, I have no way to apply them.
- Adhessive Mesh traps do not seem to work. They say the critter is affected but it keeps chasing me down.
- I am not sure that maskscent works, no indicator when it is "on"
- Traps will still be thrown after a creature is dead
- Not able to extract resources from kills (sporatic)
