Thread: Harvesting droids. . .?

Another useful feature is that they can harvest underwater. No more trying to pull that last spawn out of the ocean or lake to where you can get at.

I find myself using my droid a lot now that I'm learning rifleman. I've got an advanced R2 named Cheif (supposed to be named Chief, but don't get me started on that) and as I go prone and kill creatures, I tell him to harvest and then kill the next creature. By the time I'm done with the next creature, he's done harvesting, so I tell him to harvest the next one.

It's also nice having a companion out in the wilderness. Sometimes when I get the urge to roleplay, I talk to my droid. I'll actually type things out like I'm having a conversation with him.

Anyone can use a droid. You have to be at least novice Scout to harvest from creatures.

i find these droids quite useless because it takes them 5 times as long as me to get to the creature and harvest it. i can be done with 3 lairs and havest 1000 units of meat while my droid is still back at the first lair getting 1 more meat then me for each harvest.... not efficent enough for me.

It seems the Rifleman Takes the greatest advantage on this. Again i say RIFLEMAN. This would be the Riflemans Tree or rifles in the name of the tree aka skill box. There has been confusion on this matter. Rifleman has the advantage of the harvesting droids.

If your TK carbine pistols get a tank droid. or a med droid. youll ne that more.

Storage droids are breat because you can take much more stuff with you! I have all my foods in a fridge droid and all my spare guns in my weapons storage droid. This is great for because, I HATE having anything extra in my inventory.

Do items in a storage bot lose condition when you die?

Nope...they are great for Corvette Runs...once you lose your buffs just toss your armor in the droid and it doesn't decay anymore. Ask Paks about those naked Corvette runs we have been having lately .

I'm personally starting to like storage droids a lot. I have way too much stuff and no alt to shove it on so the extra space really is nice.

Depressing. I was out slaughtering batha's yesterday (read as: genocide) by the Krayt spawns and I like to use my harvest droid as I hate repositioning. I find using the droid makes killing more efficient as I can send him off and start on the next target. I got about 8k hides an 90min or so. Great? Yeah, it was. The sad part is my 104 rated droid (Warbler by name) harvests 3-6 more units then me on average. While it was good that I was able to harvest more (at a 60cpu rate) I couldn't help but feel somewhat irritated by the fact I felt a bit gimped that a droid made me feel as though I got hit with a nerf bat.

Just an observation/opinion.

As far as Iknow, the bonus to harvest we get from a droid lessens, the closer we get to Master. So that +104 droid is a lot more useful to a Scout. My suggestion to Master Rangers is to try out using a droid with a lower harvest bonus (+70 at least though) and getting a DE to stick in maybe a storage or trap module (yay!) instead. I have not done any proper experimenting yet (only low-mid level critters) but once I reached Master I decided to get a +107 droid to compare to my +76 (with trap module!) and so far they both seem to harvest the same amount to me. So the one with the trap module isa lot handier as I can have it launch p-darts from 64mwithout interupting my combat queue, whereas I have to burst run/stim/lob my own trapsmore using my +107 droid.
