After some experimentation, the only thingI havenoticedabout increased foraging skill is that it allows you to forage more items off each forage attempt. I have been getting up to 3 items per attempt since I hit Novice Ranger. On the other I have not really noticed an increase in success rate over what I was doing as a Scout. I'm inclined to believe that your success rate is determined by the location you are foraging in.

Yes Lakota. In my experience, every area will eventually become depleted of items if you forage there long enough. I suppose this was implemented to prevent macro foraging (not that anyone would ever do it with the current state of foraging).
