If the narrow minded devs won't allow stealthing against players... at bare minimum it should at leastinclude NPCs.

First off, Bone Spur and Noisemaker did used to hit the mind pool. I used to hunt paralops on Corellia during the first month and the Bone Spur would take away 2/3rds of the mind bar. They then reduced the amount of damage it inflicted. Although this was a large amount of damage on a low HAM creature.

Second, I have always been a fan of a type of invisibility skill in PvP. Not necessarily full invisibility, but I wanted something along the lines of a white dot on radar, got shot down, oh well. Next option.

I would like conceal to work on NPCs but I am not quite sure what I would give up if that is the option. Truthfully, I haven't used camo in about a month or two. I just went back to Lok last night and realized they finally changed the meat requirement, not sure how long ago that was

I guess I will vote new system.

Make Conceal an ability to use against CH pets.

Just tough it would bring something actually usefull to the ranger abilities in PvP. Allowus to be the "counters" to Creature handlers. Players with camouflage on should be totally invisible to CH pets. That would greatly balance overpowered pets from turning the tide of a battle by having rangers be able to counter this menace.

Another idea I had for conceal is ifit would give agoodbonus to evasion but only on the FIRST shot fired on you. so that way peoples wearing camo would get a chance to dodge suprise attacks and then the camo wears off and they become normal targets.

Why could Rangers not be attacked if their dot was not shown on the radar?

Why you ask? Because that is the way the targeting system is designed. We don't know why and I dont think it matters... That is just the way it is. No dot, equals no target, equals no attack, equals chedder!

Our avatar in game could still physically be seen, manually selected, and then attacked right?

Wrong. Do not assume that. The dev's said 'the TARGETING system' is based on the radar, not the auto targeting system is based on the radar. From their unwillingness to consider this suggestion previously I would guess it was the whole targeting system.

I have never played a game in which people did not cry and whine about invisibility anyway, and I for one do not want to become the flavor of the month profession and have the nerf bat brought severly upon our heads just because we can be invisible. I like being part of a rare profession. I like the fact that people for the most part leave Ranger alone. I think even with the changes proposed, people will still shy away from it. Leave the inviso stuff to the 1337 kiddies, which thankfully do not play rangers because we are not uber at killing and griefing other players.

Stick to some sort of graphic representation of /conceal and a serious -to hit/offensive bonus and it is quite a benefit to us already.

This is actually my evil plan. Make the Invisibilty bit so hard to argue that when they do nix it, they will concede that the NPC thing was ok after all

Ooops, did I say that out loud?

I vote for a new system similiar to what squidwalker and n'raas were talking about. I like the idea of a sneak attack or some form of an ambush skill. I would also like to see the components for conceal to be more generic, and I don't mind if it doesn't work in cities. Obviously, just from our debate here, it is going to take some work to come up with something good, but just about anything will be better that what we have now.
