Thread: Ranger ROCK in CU W00t
Doesn't matter what specials he used.
He said he used P-darts that makes it a ranger kill.
As was posted in another Rnager Thread.
Use P-darts. I am Master Rifles also have been forever.
I try to Open with Sniper shot when it works to and pull aggro to me.
I then try to hit with p-darts followed up by Kneecap shot. I have found if I land two P-darts and alternae my shots betwwen Headshot startleshot and startleshot and Kneecap shot I can root and keep a CL95 Ancient Bull Rancor in place until I can kill it.
If it does not get rooted it will kill me everytime if I try to tank it or kite it.
P-darts are your friend and only friend from what I am seeing.

why not? I think we should get trap expiermentation, and at master, you should be able to craft traps with at most, a 50/50 chance on working against HighLevel creatures. No, traps shouldn't work 100% against Krayts, but with Master level expiermenting, you should get a 50/50 chance.
but that will have to wait until our revamp i suppose.
Make the most of it folks. Some idjit will 'fix' it eventually (but hopefully they'll be too busy looking at kashyyyyyyyk for a while yet

I believe as do some others Traps should have a chance to work on every MOB.

If anyone should have a chance to hunt and affect a high levelMOB it should be Rangers.

Oh wait, nothing you did was affected by your ranger skills it sounds like. You did stopping shot? And Body shot? Isn't stopping shot a +Root+ effect? Why are you wasting a turn before it throwing a +snare+ trap?

Actually, concussion shot's description classifies it as a mez that will break when damage is taken by the MOB. I know myself and many other smugglers are hoping that the devs change the description instead of the skill.
Agreed. Last night was a prime example over the usefulness of ranger now. I was back on Lok for some solo hunting (carbineer 0020). With a few crates of traps in my inventory, I was waiting for the shuttle when I saw a spam for ahunting group. I joined them. So off we were. I instructed everyone to just get creature lairs since I"m useless with npc's. Off I went to update my lair and they followed. It seems when a groupmember has 'master ranger' title, they await your orders. I quickly assumed leadership of the group and the newbs I was hunting with tended to follow quite well. Phec darts and p-darts are so useful now since the mobs aren't dead in 0.08 seconds. The only complaint came from the medic/docs not getting healing xp since no one was getting hurt. Having suggested I lay off from throwing traps, I hung back and pulled out a HTFB. All of the sudden, everything was out of control. People were getting triple incapped in no time. The doc/medic levellers couldn't keep up with the demand. Needlesstosay, my crates were used all up with this one hunting experience. It seems phec darts stack WOOT.

If I can throw a trap on a ancient krayt dragon then use kneecap shot on him to root him indefinately then thats just dumb. If you guys want all the jedi alts out there to become Rangers to be able to do it then so be it.
There is zero challenge in that. Might as well drop harvestors like they used to to block them up and stand back rifling them.
So silly.....
