Howdy. Back from the first official family vacation. Still no revamp. I waited ONE WHOLE WEEK! 
Believe it or not this Ranger had never really been camping lol. We had a blast. Not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow but I get to play some today.

did you go REAL camping, or did you go to some campground, and hook a camper up to electricity, sewer, water, and cable tv? (i bet those places have high-speed internet hookups now.

ROFL. No it was real camping. Rustic. The place we went you used to have to pump your own water, but it's a faucet now which was a bummer. I wanted the kids to have to work. We had to bathe in the lake, walk to an outhouse, and cook almost all of our food in the fire pit. It was awesome. I wanted to stay a couple more days, but the kids were going bonkers. One kid came back and watched Lord of the RIngs for almost eight straight hours, and the other fled to the family room and watched Blue's Clues until he fell asleep. The others had me put the tent back up in the yard, and slept out there. My good little Ranger's hehe....

well, can't win em all over to the Ranger-side, but at least you got some of em.
sounds like a good time. been ages since i've camped.

Camping rocks! =) My kids constantly bug me to go camping - they get to do the tent in the backyard thing once or twice a summer at least. It's just too dang hot to go camping here till Fall though, so I'm eagerly awaiting a break in the weather. I think the trick to getting the kids to like camping is Roasted Marshmellows ^_^ Seriously, that and teaching them how to build the fire. But where else can you let your little firebugs go all out! Well, ok not really - everyone remember Smokey says, "only YOU can prevent forest fires!" And everyone gets the whole respect wildlife/flora lecture etc. It's still fun to start a campfire!
Unfortunately, with the kids, we really haven't done any hiking like we used to =/ No more packing it in, bring your own water and a tarp for the tent lol Thankfully we still haven't sunk to the level of the R.V. complete with satellite dish and internet access lol

i've always heard that Utah had nice scenery. lots of neat rock formations. things like Natural Bridges and whatnot.

oh, Owen, if you feel like being one of those Jerk-Tourists i always complain about, come to Hershey, PA to smell the chocolate air and see the Hershey Kiss streetlights, and drive really slow just to anger me.

i posted that because i LIVE in Hershey, Pennsylvania. It's a town that the Hershey's Chocolate Factory is located in, and has turned into a HUGE tourist town because of the Chocolate Factory, and the amseument park, HersheyPark.

Thanks for the welcome back. Unfortunately now I have to go back to work tomorrow. Rumor has it we are having another shift change and this one may seriously dent my play time. I'll keep you posted.

Yeah, it's a state out west; shaped like a rectangle; sandwiched between Utah, Idaho, Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska (/shudder), and Colorado. That ring a bell?
