Thread: You may think fishing has little use in the game...

But it is the only way to craft Pet Stim D's .

I saw someone on the galaxy trade forums looking to buy some fish for an acquarium. So, I whip out my 30K resource deed, find the best spawn with was Yavin IV with OQ 982 / FL 900 / DR 903 / PE 399 Fish meat, and fished for about an hour. Came up with 22 fish and 283 units of Fish meat. Each Stim D requires 25 units of the stuff, so I am hoping to get a high use amount per stack with Rancor Bile or Janta Blood out of it.

Also, Mollusks are required for a BE Tissue.

I am so relieved that there are schematics in the game that require these obscure organics. Makes my CL 48, Melee Defense 18 / Ranged Defense 23 character worth taking out in the wilderness

That's good to know. My other account is a BE/Tailor (no I will not make those horrible garments with him). Next time I'm fishing i'll make sure to keep the meat lol.

... but how are we supposed to fish without /forage. Eventually someone will forget to make some new bait and use the last batch!

I support keeping /forage in Scout ( including the "Giant Wedding-Cake of Invisibility" ).

I wholeheartedly support the protection of our fishing abilities! I use them to decorate (aquariums) and the meats go to our guilds BEs. Why can't /forage just get bumped down to novice scout. and isnt the ability to /filet in the tree that is being eliminated? Maybe not, but regardless, just move /filet and /forage to basic scout and be done with it.

Buy the bait. Buy a frigging fish! There's 40 bazillion of them on the bazaar. Some enterprising scout will figure out there is a good market for this stuff and stock it. Some dev will figure that a mini-mission with a bait reward for the terminally forgetful is a good idea. Some other dev will say "Ok, let's make corn usable as bait but it will suck worse than chum.

Forage != fishing != forage

There's like 30 posts about /forage in the InDevel thread now, so they're bound to see it being addressed and answer it. Otherwise, we revolt.

The thing is Forage is a Scout skill. It just gets better as a Ranger. I'm not sure why they need to do anything to it.

... but why waste time removing one ability and then add another one to make up for the one you removed... when there is no bloody reason to remove it in the first place.

/forage is a Scout-skill. What? Scouts are overpowered if they get to keep it? *confused*

Scouts are not overpowered if they get to keep it. I would prefer to see rational, sensible arguments for why it should stay instead of the foolish nad untrue arguments that are saying if it is removed, no-one can everfish again. It's spurious and likely to harm the argument as rational beings will dismiss it for the nonsense it is and it will be lost altogether.

I *SUPPORT* retaining foraging, but basing any argument that without it, BE's will lose the abilities to use schematics, we won't get mollusks and female gamers will be disenfranchised (all have come up in various Chicken Little threads) is not going to help.

Fishing is required. If they ever took out foraging completely, they would have to affect Bio-engineer and Chef schematics. Possibly others, but I doubt it.
