Near asI can tell we were after a pritty even distribution between creature and military skills.
And now we get to keep the creature skills (the new scout) plus we get our paramilitary skills. So everyone gets something out of this.

Only reason I like it is because my BE needs it to help my guild.
because thats whata ranger does. And I participated in many discussions here back then. Not a single ranger demanded to lose his harvesting ability. We went ranger because we loved to hunt.
With CU, that has become next to impossible as we now must look for the correct level. Mobs dont always respawn three times like before in same location. Most rangers cant get to lvl 80 combat to hunt on dathomor or endor. Mobs dont have unique behaviors with some being extremely aggressive (mereks to name a few) while others seem to avoid you. So since SOE borked what was left of our class anyway maybe SOE should just elminate harvesting organics completely.
From what I recall, most suggestions were like make camo work for whole group (with ranger in it, sorta like squad leader buff). Make traps like harvesters with ability to static farm mobs that wonder too close. Make campsites sorta like small bases with some real firepower to rebel mobs, etc. I dont recall any ranger saying dump all my abilities and make me a spy.

I'm curious to know how long you've been around the Ranger forums. Our community has always been pretty well evenly divided on what we thought a Ranger should be. I'd guess that close to half of us, including our former Correspondent, Owen-Lars, felt that we should be more para-military Rangers than anything. If you read the in concept documents, several of the ideas were taken from us here in the forums.
This revamp is a good thing for us. You can't please everyone. Someone will always see it differently. I for one, am ecstatic. ![]()

You didnt lose anything, it will all be in Scout now. Only a few wanted Ranger to be a 'glorified' Scout, thats all Ranger was. Now its been consolidated effectively and Scout will be as effective vs Creatures as Ranger was beforehand (not saying much but still, I.e. nothings changed) and then Ranger itself will support PVP and NPC PVE gameplay. So if you remained full master scout and master ranger, youd essentially have tools for all of PVE both NPC and Creature. I don't see how this can be seen as a negative. Many people were saying should Ranger be creature or npc focused? Now we got both, assuming you keep Master Scout after the pre-reqs are lightened. A Master Ranger has always been a Master Scout as well, so theres no real differentiation here. You simply got more.
Well if you can't understand how drastic change from creature centric to PVP centric may bother somepeople dedicated to ranger impacts them then you are not cut out to deal with people. All changes have an adjustment whether you like it or not and the people who have been playing ranger have a big adjustment ahead of them...I will drop my ranger for scout when the changes take effect because I don't personally care for the jedi/PVP show off fest in major cities, which is all this game is comming down too.

I have Master Scout, Master Ranger and Master Rifles with a CL of 80 if i can keep all of this with the new revamp i think i would be a very happy Ranger

That bit in red was what we wanted, and we got it! It will all be in scout now, boosting that weak novice profession and allowing you all the creature centric fun you desire.
What we also wanted was to be a STAR WARS ranger as opposed to a fantasy ranger. Finally the devs have recognised that and are making us into the vision of what exists in the star wars universe. If they follow what they post we be closest to our Star Wars canon examples than any other combat profession except pilot. SOE have actually listened to their customers and given them what they want. A Star Wars Ranger in a Star Wars game.
