Thread: Ranger Survey
Unless I know the route is safe, I leave the mount stored and go on foot. It's a butt pain to dismount and fight, or re maskscent or camo. I run as fast as some mounts, specially when the mount has a fat wookie on his back.
As to vehicles, from point A to B, use it. Hunting, will be on foot still.

You should see TC..there are tons of dead vehicles all over the place. Just running a mission, you can find 2 or 3 in the wilderness and don't get me started on the cities!!! As far as working ones, i still a lot of people on foot in the city, so the lag hasn't been too bad. But the TC has a pretty small population, so it may not be the best indicator.

I have a mount, but I mostly use my legs still. I am about to get a DB mount and if it rides better and is faster then my spat, I will use it for the long treks with no stops inbetween.
I might try a vehicle if someone gives me one, but for RP purposes as a ranger, I won't likely use one.
Vehicles = Star Wars. This is a good thing.
I will probably still use my mount out hunting, and like the others use the speeder in lieu of a shuttle.
Good Hunting.

Same here
I have my mount and iuse it from time to time, but i mostly find myself traveling on my own two feet.Combat on the mount is a pain, and i much rather be able to camo myself up, then have to keep getting on and off my mount. I use the mount, but i still use my feet as well.
As far as vehicle go, i willend up buying one. It's going to be fun to buzzaround in a speeder, but when i huntand go out exploring i will still use my legs. I travel a lot to far off places, but most of the time it is to hunt, and for that I usually go on foot.
As far as how it relates to ranger-ing: it gets me to my hunting grounds faster, it lets me scout ahead for my group faster, it lets me catch up with a person in trouble faster. Thus, I feel it fits with any ranger type you wish to play.
I plan to get a speeder bike as soon as possible.
Not because it helps me get around faster (though that's certainly a bonus) but because the speeder bike is a very Star-Warsy thing for a scouting (or rangering, hehe) person to have. I mean, who had speeder bikes in the movies? The scout troopers on Endor. Haden's interview compares them to high-performance racing bikes.. but that's not *entirely* accurate- scouts don't ride kawasakis through the wilderness ![]()
So why am I getting a speeder bike? Because I see my character (in the context of being a ranger) as an elite military scout, and the speeder bike is just the thing for that profession.
While I think mounts are likely more in tune with who my character is, I have a huge issue with the number of pets in this game, so likely I will just use a vehicle until I get to where I will run around on foot.
