Ranger Archive

Two.. A leathery looking hide and a wooly type hide. It's architect crafted and requires furniture 4. The components don't affect the appearance.

As a corollary to your question about Tanned Hides... What are some possible creative naming ideas that you guys have for them? I'm making them for my "ranger cabin" and will likely throw a few on my ranger vendor too.

My ideas thus far are:
- Stretched Gorax
- Tanned Krayt Skin
- Heathen Wookiee Hide (courtesy of Al'dijnn'i)
- Ewok Pelt (courtesy of Al'dijnn'i)


I wonder if anyone will notice my Hijack here?!

if i'm wrong about that, then the schematic acts just like the Crafter's Apron schematic for Tailors, where you do not know what type of item it will make until your learn the schematic.

as far as names to call it, i'd want a "Stretched Kreetle Hide" in my house. Or a "Stretched Bothan Skin"

I've thought long and hard about incorporating Kreetles into the tanned hide and it just doesn't fit the bill. To compensate, I am setting up a small table with some custom made food on it...
- Kreetle Stew
- Krunchy Kreelte Biscuits

Havn't settled on these names yet though.

And I've been searching for loot and other things that would make my home more "ranger like".

What other stuff do you plan to put in your Cabin?

Here's a few items i'd suggest

a few stacks of the new hide artwork
throw pillows (new item you loot the scheme for) these make the brown pillows in fort tusken.
portable stove (looks like a small camp stove, this is also a new looted item)
a crate or 2 of traps, camps, cammo kits
fishing rods
jars of bait
foraged food
the small cage that you can get from missions i think
small creature in the cage, or not in the cage
decorative bowls and baskets (wicker basket looking items)
a few old rifles on the wall
i'd go with torches or candles for light instead of lamps
bol and krayt skulls of course
life day tree painting (if you can get this, it's a very nice looking nature type scene)
endor landscape painting (my single favorite painting in the game, and xandur can give witness that i own just about every painting in the game)
survival knife (maybe get one specially named to be "a whittling knife")
i'd go with the wooden chairs and tables for that truly rustic look.
bantha doll or statue (i just really like these things)
some small glasses (artisans can make them, have it named for your favorite beverage)
LOTS of pants. there's only 3 to choose from, unfortunatly, but you can never go wrong with a few plants to liven the place up

there's some suggestions i have, i'm sure others will have some as well

Well, first off, I will direct you to some other threads. I don't have links or URLs, but there was one thread about decorating for a ranger that you should look for. Also, from what I understand, BETHYA is touring the galaxies and looking at different 'ranger cabins' and ragner shops. She has graciously offered to create a post with screenies showing off some of what she finds! So look out for that thread for sure.

some of my suggestions are:
- the new hide as a floor mat
- fish tank (I've just mounted a big fish above the couch)
- torches - the fire is nice and "rangery"
- camps - did you know can craft a camp and drop it indoors! it looks like the image displayed in the draft schematic. The HTFB is too big, but the field base works well.
- Krayt skull (of course!)
- Bol Skull (master hunter trophy... a must)
- Tanned Hide - it's like they made loot just for us!
- Tatooine Tapestry - not a 'ranger' thing per say, but I like it
- a camo kit named "beer", that way you have a six pack for guests and non-rangers will say "how'd you get beer?!"
- Calc posted some screenies of his place in another forum, and I've gotta say, his display of the hero of tat reward is pretty nice and makes me jealous.
- A fireplace if you're so inclined, but I find that they're too 'indoorsy' for me.
- Some random bone and meat sitting around
- I have an inconspicuous pile of stuff in the corner... if you look at it, you will realize it's peko feather, GDK scales, Gurk king hides, and other nice creature loot. This is just for showing off and I don't have all the loot yet
