As Master Ranger/Rifleman can you solo the high end mobs like NS Elders, krayts, Kimo? I have some medic too.

In theory, concealshot will let you solo just about anything (although the resists on some creatures makes it just about impossible). It will be slow, though.

As for fighting it out, you will find it hard. Even with good armor and buffs you can get killed fairly easily by some stuff (dizzy/knockdown, disease, stun weapons [even if you have stun armor and a PSG, run if they pull one of these out], etc). It is possible to do but you'll have more fun doing it in a group (and a higher success rate).

Hello,

I was Ranger/Rifleman ... now nothing anymore

Camoed with the conceal shot I soloed for example

1 NS Elder

2 juvenile krayts

5-6 giant dune kimos

over 20 AT-ST ... forgot to register them all

hundreds of crystal hunters ... I cleared the whole cave on dant alone just before the respawning time

never found a gorax ...

I just abbandoned the idea to kill an adult krayt because it will least over 1h ... but theoretically it's possible

You should also consider I did the FS melee speed that is working for the T21 cause a lovely bug so I was speed-capped with the T21

Who needs to be a rifleman?

Bleed shots and a speeder. Kite the evil McNasty, pop in and out of range. Creatures are easy, we can trap them. NPCs are harder, but doable.

Melee people really get whomped on here.

Why do melee people get whomped? I'm a swordsman and feel invincible! Swordsman is the ultimate PvE profession since almost everytying has low blast resists. Also, swordsman is considered the premier NS hunting profession. You need good armor and buffs because you're gonna be tanking. But, the efficiency is incredible. I can stoll up to a lair of Enraged Bull Rancors and drop 5 at a time in 2 minutes with only a bit of dizzy and tiny bleed on me.

I think rifles is a good profession mind you, however JB, I'm not feeling to cut as a swordsman here.

Funny you should ask, Only last did I fell the largest beast I have ever tried to solo. A Giant Dune Kimoliga. I used no armour, nor doctor buffs. I used camoflauge, cover, conceal shot and mind food, and my trusty T21. It did however, take me over an hour to kill it. Then after all of that it had no loot

I didn't use buffs or uber armour, so why did the combat revamp have to spoil my game?

/cry less soloing more grouping ! Ranger can be a lonely enough proffession at the best of times so I really cant understand the "solo this , solo that" mentalitiy.

Whats the point of the HTFB if no one is around to see it ?

We are playing a mmorpg (well some of us it would seem) after all.

If any of you are going for jedi , believe, you will too soon get sick of being alone !

This solo group attitude is one thing which really lets this game down. May as well play a non online game by yourself and not have to pay monthly for the privilege

I think that's a pretty harsh criticism for one reason. Everyone has different goals and styles of play. I try never to criticise someone on their style of play because it's a personal preference. If someone enjoys being alone out the wilderness, then so be it. Likewise, if someone loves hunting in groups, great, enjoy. It's a game and really only meant to be played in a way that derives fun for the player. I see your point above as your opinion, as you are definitely entitled to. However, I would leave it at that and not criticise others for how they choose to play the game.

As a Master ranger I love group hunts.

When I hunt Eldars I do better by myself than in a group. I can choose the terrain, target and how the Eldar goes down. Same thing with GDK or Krayts.

As far as concealshot I just do not have the patience to spend an hour conceal shotting a target and hoping someone doesn't show up to kill steal my target.

So I am one of those Rangers running around wearing Composite, except for the helmet, and hunting as effienctly as possible.

I rely on Brandy, Ahrisa, and the ocassional Moun, or Pixie for a quick pick me up. Novice Medic is being less and less important.

So as a Master Ranger \ Master Riflemen, GDK are doable, Eldars are doable, Krayts if you take precautions.

What kind of precautions do you have to take to kill a krayat without concealshotting?

Well for the most part Rangers are soloists as we prefer the outdoors to the crowds of people. Add to this we move best when we have nobody but ourselves to look out for. The times I used the HTFB solo was for the faster heal rates but most of the times I used them for guild events and raids. Sure this is a MMO and we should be grouping more often (eventually it'll be necessary for higher end agros) though there are times when players don't want to be bothered by a shadow or tag along. Amidst all this I do agree with you that with the recent increase in Jedi unlocks we're finding more people having to remove themselves from the main stream and grind in private for months just to achieve their dreamyet at the same time it comes with a hefty cost of alienating themselves and their friends. Sure we have guild chat, group chat and voice servers (if you use them) though nothing really beats the feel of actually working together.

Don't piss them off.

Actually your best bet and quickest way to drop krayts without using conceal shot requires you to have a group or pickup a melee stacking template. The pure damage dealt by the krayt is almost too much for a non-stacker to absorb due to lack of melee damage mitigation andsinceall creatures run a chance of doing un-negated damage (as in you're not wearing armor)to players which cropped up after the JTL release. If you're not up for that then find you a few tanks who are willing to lock up the krayt while the range players start to do their work. It doesn't hurt to have a CM in the group nor a Commando for the DoTs. Hands down the quickest way to drop the krayt is using a few stackers, a CM and a couple of Jedi (the more the faster they go down).

The problem with conceal shot soloing is thetime spent using it to avoid the death or melee confrontation. Sure we can tackle almost anything out there but wasting an 1+ hours just to drop one high level agro only to loot 100 credits just isn't really worth the effort.
