wow i know people are excited for this new revamp that we are getting but after 2 years of waiting for it, i think im going to be sick, all they did was take some template from like WoW and throw it at us, im not too pleased with the fact that they made us completely non creature centric now and the fact that we're getting abilities equivilant to that of a theif on some other medieval game
and what about my super sweet camps?
im just sad that this is what ranger is going to evolve into...

I think the ideas for this new profession are really cool -- I just don't think it should be the ranger profession.
I have an armorsmith/tailor alt, CL1. Surveying and tending harvestors is bad enough as it is ... am I supposed to go out and hunt for my own hide and bone to make armor now, too? This all seems to me as an attempt to make rangers more of a PvP profession because the best "content" in the game right now is created by its players, not its developers. Shift everything to a PvP profession or nerf it, and it doesn't matter how buggy ToOW will be or how they'll never fix the buggy quests in RotW.

My mistake ... haven't read enough to know that harvesting is moving to scout.
So if part of the point of this is to make ranger like other elite professions -- ie only needing 2 columns in basic professions instead of mastering 1 -- how many people who are rangers now and think they'll stay rangers after the revamp are going to drop the parts of scout no longer needed? I've seen a number of posts by people saying they'll just keep master scout anyway, and the scout/ranger theme is what strongly draws so many of us to the profession in the first place ... so what's the point?
Make it a different profession.

also a good point, i liked being a master scout master Ranger for the sheer fact that i knew it was really needed to be just that. now im concerned with the fact that we're going to get all the whiners and criers here to trash our forums and our beloved proffession is going to be whored out to all the PVP junkies, so i can see it now for posts "explodiing trap of doom, NERF IT" i just dont want to see this part of the forum turn to crap for the sheer fact that they wanted to make us apart of pvp content because appearently the devs couldnt figure out a way to make pve intresting enough

When they do this, I'd like to see one other change. Toss out the Scout title, rename Scout as Ranger--after all, it is inheriting almost all the old Ranger skills. Then give the new Elite profession another name. If my beloved Elite profession is going to turn into a Novice one you can master in a day, I at least want to be able to keep my beloved and spiffy Ranger tag.

It's unanimous. Anyone from SOE listening out there? (Guess we should post this idea somewhere more appropriate

yes you are correct, and thats also a problem. they really need to rethink even putting stealing in the game at all, it causes too many unbalancing issues for economy and not to mention bugs, i mean for pete sake BUGS!!!

Ranger is still ranger. Still a specialist in their environment. Now a specialist in concealment/stealth as well. I can see where the stealing part could play a fantastic role. Quests that require stealing urgent documents, codes, communications.... oh man, my heart flutters. I left ranger because I really wasnt into creatures. The new ranger is militarily oriented. Ewww, my cup of tea.
I will be watching this closely, and will have my TC toon ready to play when it goes to test.
