Ok to gain FS xp so you can unlock certain FS boxes you can convert existing xp in FS xp.
If you wanted toget the fsboxes by campingusing the current ratio of 1 fs for 10 xp (insane for camping xp)
You would need:
For Novice: 500,000 Wilderness Survival XP
Level 1: 1,750,000 Wilderness Survival XP
Level 2: 2,500,000 Wilderness Survival XP
Level 3: 3,500,000 Wilderness Survival XP
Level 4: 4,500,000 Wilderness Survival XP
This is per tier
The total would be 12,750,000 Wilderness Survival XP PER TIER
At 1000 xp per camp every 20 mins that equals:
255,000 Minutes in Camps
4250 Hours in Camps
117 Days in Camps
Anyone fancy getting master senses with camp xp? Only 468 days worth of camp xp
Not that im saying go out and do fs with camp xp, i just think that the conversion rate of 1 for 10 is abit harsh, considering combat xp is 1 for 3.
Also:
Scout Xp = 1 for 15 = 19,250,000 scout xp per tier
Trapping Xp = 1 for 30 = 38,250,000 trapping xp per tier
Get ready to kill 9625 scout xp capped (2000 per creature max) creatures hehe.
I think it would be much fairer ifWilderness Survivaland BH Investigation were all equal if not better than the combat xp conversion ratios.

Am still repeating to myself, "that's just the ratio in Test. It'll be more sane on Live. that's just the ratio in Test. It'll be more sane on Live." :S
There are elements of the whole new FS thingy that makes me think "Did anyone actually think "Hmm, now how can somebody who doesn't have a combat character" actually get through this section..."
(Not wishing to pollute our little den of sanity with non-ranger stuff BUT this is to do with how I see the new FS affecting people in our profession tree)
Let's look at a f'rinstance. You're hunting on Dantooine, assuming you can find a bit of open ground that's not a player town. WHat's that? A Merchant tent? Some hermits? Haha.. no. It's some Shadow Sith thugs and, whooops, they just got their eye on you. To be fair, if you're buffed and suited they go over easily enough BUT they are somebodies mission and way too aggressive, attacking as they do any passer by with even a little FS in them.
Interestingly, we rangers, because of the nature of our profession are quite likely to have a good connection to the Force early on as we travel a LOT. Keep your eyes open children, there's an old man in a mac wants to give you something special to look after...
Oh, and then there's Mellichae. My favourite of all scary NPC's. He pops up, robotic arm and all, out on the grasslands, and hangs around with a gang of thugs, another Sith creature or two and a huge camp that heals damage like you'd not believe.
While he's waiting for the poor sap whose been told to pop out and off the nasty man arriving, that charmer Mell attacks anyone foolhardy enough to wander too close by. Have found him in the yard trash outside Mos Eisley and lurking in the long grass on Dant. Both times I was 'just passing' and found myself dead on my back before even realising there was any danger.
There's going to be a serious change in the flavour of the game when Pub10 hits. To be honest i don't, despite my grumbling, think it's ALL bad (the conversion rates are bonkers, but, like I said, still repeating my mantra) but the wilderness, even on the home planets, is just about to get REAL dangerous.
Hehe, maybe there's an opening for an enterprising ranger to sell dosings of cammo to travellers and to guide them away from danger using /area??

"Hmm, now how can somebody who doesn't have a combat character" actually get through this section..."
Did you happen to see the Entertainment Healing Xp conversion rates?
Admittedly you can macro for it but its still one of the hardest xp's to get and it has something like a 1 for 30 ratio lol. When i did master dancer i would have given my left arm for 30 ent healing xp at a time heh. I did dancer without afk'ing once and the ent healing xp is super slow like you wouldnt believe.
Hopefully like you said, its only TC rates so there aint no jedi on TC. But still, i does have me worried no matter what rate it is, the casual gamer is gonna be wiped from the face of the game in terms of forse sensitivity

My bad. I wasn't so much answering your thread re the conversion rates but girning about the tuff npc's on patrol. My entertainer is a passing good pistoleer/swordsman, as the idjits that used to challenge him to a duel found out, but he was also rarely in a position to, at the drop of a hat, go get buffed, suited and kill a couple of medium level thugs. Mostly due to being unable to afford armour and buffs as no b***er tips even the live ents these days.... Ok, that's a whole OTHER rant, lol
For the xp rates, yup, I do hope it is to stop TC2 testers leaping to jedidom before they've managed to break the lower level quests. Over the weekend its seemed that we were given access to the different 'strata' in stages, so, wonder what Monday will bring, LOL
RIght, am going back to ranting about worrts aggroing me and my bols when am out plinking eopie for cheap thrills.

Monday will bring us a fresh start again
total character wipe and im glad. Ill be happy to start the quests again from old man.
About the quote, yeah sorry i knew what you were talking in reference to, but it just reminded me how absurd the ent healing xp ratios are.
Andyes i think ID's and all the completely crafting orientated characters will strugle alot taking those sith down. They will have to group up with someone and be 'sheperd' around with a body guard at all times until the sith pop. Which is unfortunate.

NP, I knew you'd knew too, just didn't want to come over as excessively rude / OT. (Been on TC2 too long, lol)
So long as there is some sort of return for me, not necessarily coin, I'll settle for a mind buff or, rofl, yeah, some company, I'd be happy to help my local ents and crafters out woth the old man / two thugs trials.
Guess they've actually got something 'right' in the game if it brings back that ol' player interaction again.
And yep, roll on Monday. My toons a bit buggy on TC2 now, with bits of barfed quest and stuff all down him.
Anyone headed for TC2 Monday wants to team up, me and my rusty Berserker will be more than happy to come plink alongside you if am on.

Ill be roll'in 2morow too.
My name is same as my main and TC1 guy. Thortac Balcor. Id be happy to team up for the later stuff if you wanted, also id be happy to throw some sliced powerhammers and scythes your way
Atm i got a 34% dam sliced powerhammer and a 32% dam sliced Scythe.
Also a 31% sliced powerhammer. You can beat the scythe though, that thing is insane.
It will take me abit to slice the weapons (and level up hehe) but should be all set very quickly.
Keep a look out for me, ill be the guy in the comp armour
