Thread: I just met with the old man.........
I am doing the FS grind, but I have no plan to be a Jedi past Padawan, I just want the alt.
Well, jumping out of nowhere like that, raincoat flapping in the wind...
Oddly enough, it IS possible to have a Ranger/Jedi template (still be CL 80, that is). It won't help much against marauding bounty hunters, though....
Well from the sound of it, the new expansion "Trials of Obi-Wan" might be more tailored for Jedi. I know, there will be plenty for all the rest of us, but it does sound like at the moment that if you are a Jedi, there will be some very special quests for you. So that might be worth your doing it. Your desire to remain a M Ranger is exactly why I made a second character who was a fighter primarily, so he could go Jedi without the frustration of losing M Ranger. I like one of the posters have kept converting XP points with the hope that some day the devs will realize a Jedi really doesn't have to be primarily a fighter (well unless you are the dark side of course, then killing for killing sake or power is all the dark side Jedi really are good for). Jedi should just like non-Jedi professions, should have all kinds of branches in healing specialists, manufacturing (making things no else can without the force), Rangers with branches for survivalist, attack specialist, and stealth speicalist;but also those who are say Creature Handlers that can tame and control even more powerful creatures and use them for even more specialized uses; and so forth, but they haven't come to realize the potential of Jedi yet, so until then it is a mute subject.

If I'd known what kind of trouble I was in for when the Old Man showed up, I'd have shot first and asked questions later. This was in the early days of the CU when folks were just discovering that the Sith ambush was no longer an easy thing-I was CL 67-69 or somewhere around that area (I didn't want to give up the Survey tree in Artisan at the time), and those Sith made my life miserable for a couple days. Finally broke down and dropped the Artisan skills entirely to be able to deal with them.

The Sith ambush used to be a serious joke...they were about as much trouble as meatlumps, but the CU changed all that and with the accursed level system made them deadly to non level 80 players, and even level 80s have problems soloing them.
In my PA, the instant the Old Man arrives, a level 80 bodyguard is assigned to you and they help you get through it.
Once you've taken care of the ambush, though, the rest is up to you. Taking out the camp and getting the WP to The Village is as far as I've taken it with two toons.

Often, while I'm sitting in a blind, watching for a rare species or trying to document a rare behavior, the old man comes blundering in and scaresaway the critters. He certainly gets around.
Its time we hung a bell around his neck so we know were he is at all times. Or at least hearhimwandering around.
i wonder how he affords the shuttle prices...
is there like a "season pass" option i didnt know about?
I'm not sure yet. I love MRanger/MRifleman, it's not the most powerful but it gets the job done. I see someone suggested MRanger & MCH and I don't know about that either. Not sure if I want to just forget the FS stuff altogether. Who knows????
