I'm an ex-Ranger and I know that hunting is repetitive, pretty darn hard, generally low paying work. Now that I'm a BE, I'm having a heck of a time finding people to hunt for me. Alot of people seem enthused about 30-40 cpu at first, and then they never log in again. I think it's really important for the whole game for master rangers to pull like 10 times the quantity of meat as they do now.

Harvestor collected resources are rediculously cheap. They need a nerf and animal based resources need a huge boost. It's really weird that the difference between the two types is so huge.

Well i just dropped off 5k hide at 110cpu. And one of the guys in my guild always feeds me the info on whats in demand and whos paying the most. So its paying very well for us.

Maybe its just me, but I'd rather be able to harvest more as opposed to charging more. I feel bad when a crafter has to pay more than 50cpu for a resource (though I am guilty of charging 100cpu on an occaision or two, but the welfare checks just stopped coming in ). This in turn, jacks up the prices on our supplies (armor for those rangers who wear it, foods, BE clothing, etc). I would much rather contribute to a reasonable economy than an inflated one.

Fact is, we're not super scouts, just buffed scouts. If they were to increase our harvest rating, we would be able to supply to crafters of varying incomes, from the newbie BE, to the prominent armorsmith. Everyone would have the resources they need and we would still have a generous income.

Bottom line, increasing our harvest would benefit all sides.

meat & hide are always in constant demand. I real good wooly hide recently spawned on my server, & I gladly paid 110 cpu for it.

Such high prices make it easier for a beginning scout to get credits, though. Just get buffed and kill/harvest whatever's in demand. 50-100 cpu for meat sure is a lot better than a beginning artisan could get for what he/she can get...resources for 1-5 cpu doesn't earn much very quickly. As soon as I started going after whatever meat was in shift I made myself hundreds of thousands of credits and was FINALLY able to start buying brandy, blue milk, and got myself some decent armor.

I think I would actually slip into a coma thinking about whether or not I should take that contract. 350cpu is a hell of a lot of money. But Tat avian means after 3 hours of hunting you've earned about 700 credits.

Last week I spent 4 days hunting 50k or soYavinian avian, being a 2 900+ stat meat(which is still in shift after 14 days), sold what I needed, and logged off. I got on a few days later and having decided to not go after the meat, just spaced out in Coronet for awhile. I got a few /tells asking me if I had any <resourcename> hide. I said no, and just sat there spacing out. A little while later someone came up to me and told me that if I got any Yavinian wooly, I could take it to his vendor. I decided to go to Yavin and check out what the specs are on this hide.

Now, you have to understand that ever since I started playing again, everytime I go to Yavin, I see nothing but Mamien all along the beach. I get to Yavin, walk down to the beach and spot a kliknik lair and two naturalWhisper bird nests. I immediately walked back to the outpost and left Yavin. I don't think Im going back for awhile. Yavin hates me. The equivalent of this would be me going to Rancor Valley when there's a 3 900stat leathery hide shift and only finding those damned goat thingies that don't fit in with Dathomir at all. I can't think of their name, as I never stop to look at this because it's the only thing on the bloody planet not trying to kill me. Although, it probably -could- because Im a master ranger. =/

I realize I went waaay off topic, and in conclusion. Yavin and goat thingies suck.

I guess I just came into the game at the right time. My second day playing, I walked into a 350cpu contract harvesting Tat Avian meat (last week) for a certain Bloodfin uber doctor. Needless to say it was annoying to collect, but I bet I was the only ultra noob walking around with a couple million creds in my pocket. **edit**, half the guys in my guild are struggling to keep their hands on 100k as non-combat profs, and they've been playing for 6+ months. I'm pimpin. Ranger works for me!

The only issue we need to consider in asking for larger quantities when harvesting is the effect on supply. More resources means lower demand and lower prices on what we have in the current economy.

I still recommend asking for the ability to harvest multiple resources OVER the ability to harvest more of one. It will give us more of the stuff we need to make our own traps and camps, and give us the ability to possibly make more money from harvesting one creature.

Multiple harvest would be ideal. But the word 'ideal' isn't in the SWG dictionary.

If we were able to harvest multiple resources from a creature, that would rock hard. Imagine this if you will, Naboo has a current shift of high quality avian meat and wooly hide. We could hunt only Pekos and we would be able to fill 2 contracts at once.

Gathering the resources for camo kits would be easier too. Just kill all the different types of creatures you come across just on the outskirts of the outpost, and voila, instant resources.

But then again, the word 'ideal' isn't in the SWG dictionary.
