enjoy yourself. In a month, i've only gotten to 4140 ranger. one day i will grind the upper levels of frontiering, but until then,i use my camps as a meeting place for groups while hunting and to heal wounds in the field (as i have no medic or tka skills).

this is just my opinion, but whenI think of the ultimate Ranger, i think of Aragorn from the Lord of the Rings. he lived most of his life in the woods. he carried a sword.

for this reason, when i picked up ranger, i also picked up swordsman.

Welcome. As for tips, just try and have fun. The experience will come and it's not like getting Master is all that big of a bonus anyway.

Welcome. Lythender said it very nicely, "just try and have fun."

After a month and change I am nearing Master and I think it was worth it.

Tips:

1. Do not rush the profession like a madman. It took me a lot longer than normal professions to master, and I even hurried some.
2. Learn to make usre of all the ranger tools. Most people will say that traps are useless, and camps are useless. I beg to differ, and will post a guide on traps today or tomorrow.
3. Pick up a good combat profession, and ranger by itself is not too useful. I'm personally a rifleman, as many in this room are. that doesn't mean it's the best, mess around some with what you like to do and pick up something good.
4. Don't expect the devs to help us as a class much...There have been promises to this profession, and most are broken. This can be a blessing, or not...depends on the user I guess.
5. Enjoy the profession It's a fun one if you can learn how to incorporate it into your daily huntings. Don't expect too much money from the profession, as we don't get to harvest all that much for the cost per unit. We can be quite effective in hunting though, and in group work. I still haven't found a use for the /rescue command yet.

Welcome to the brother/sisterhood of rangers. As many have said, just play the game and get the exp you need for ranger as you play. It took me from day one just playing about 4-5 months to master scout and ranger. Don't grind. Well I did a little grinding at the end of each box of survival. It's harder now since no one "needs" our camps. But explore planets, wander around solo on planets of all types. Experiment with your ranger abilities, the best combo with what ever your combat profession is. As well as for your play style.

And the sticky posts at the top with the FAQ and hints tips.

  2. Learn how to pull a single creature out when you get a bleed.

  3. Play around with specials and be carefull of AEO attacks and hitting the layer by acident

  4. Look up, look down, look around at the magnificant scenery in the game
