I see this all the time brought up and I still don't know what it is. I know you have to loot rare coponents off NPCs to make it, but what does it do and what are the benefits? Is it something all Rangers should have?

I love mine. Actually carry it with me all the time in my pack, for "cleaning up" crap resources after helping folks hunt and just harvesting random stuff.

For those that asked, the recycler lets you pick a type of resouce to recycle (meat, hide, bone, horn, fish, etc) and then when you put some of that type of stuff "in", it kicks out a generic resouce (like processed meat or hide, crushed bone, etc) with stats of 200 across the board. For Ranger crafting it's awesome, since MOST of our stuff doesn't care about resource quality. Make a schematic for camps 1 time using recycled resources, and never make another. It's also quite helpful when you end up just hunting a planet and harvesting whatever you feel like (if nothing good is in shift) for xp or just cause, as a Ranger, you can't bear the though of killing a bunch of critters and NOT harvesting SOMETHING... then you take all those bits and parts at the end of your hunt, and recycle 'em down to just 2 or 3 stacks of recycled organics, instead of 6 or 8 or 10 different small stacks that aren't so useful. They're a pain to get all the parts for, but it can also be fun (it's something to do), and I've found mine to be quite handy. I'm even considering getting one of the ones that'll do metals too, so I can just use a generic metal in my camps and traps that call for it (makes it that much easier to do a schematic and factory runs). Whee!

So the next obvious question is how do you make this recycler, and where do you get the parts? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Bacajow found this a while back:

Organic Combiner: Stack Your Hides!

Organic Combiner – Recycler for Creature Parts
by Zola Gallorum, Chilastra Galaxy

This recycler allows the user to combine stacks of hide, meat, bone, seafood, horn and milk. The products are generic for the type, such as “hide” with a value of 200 on its stats. The components for the Organic Combiner are all lootable off specific NPC groups.

Creature Recycler Schematic:

Lootable from Alkara bandits, Tatooine (easy to moderate to kill)

n'Jessi note: Looted one off Tuskens in the Tusken bunker (moderate to hard to kill). It might have been a tusken elite guard, which are found next to the Tusken king.

Resources needed:

Generic Resources:

  • 50 units of fiberplast

  • 50 units of steel

Looted components for schematic:

  • 4 Pulverizers – lootable from Chunkers, Talus (very easy). I found then inside Dearic, Talus, and just on the outskirts of town. The drop rate seemed to be very good.

  • 4 Spinner Blades – lootable from Hidden Daggers, Corellia (moderate). These were the most difficult pieces to come by in my experience. All of the ones I looted came from taking missions on Corellia. Missions that were walled bases yielded spinner blades. It is also speculated that Hidden Dagger Extremists and Activists are the ones to drop the spinner blades.

  • 1 Feed Tube – lootable from Tuskens, Tatooine (moderate to difficult). The drop rate appears to be moderate at the Tusken Fort and Bunker. Tusken commoners have also been found to have these, so it doesn’t appear to drop specifically off the really difficult NPCs.

  • 1 Agitator Motor. Schematic looted from Canyon Corsairs, Lok (moderate to difficult). Mine was looted rather easily from the Canyon Corsair POI, but I have heard this is a rare drop. It is also speculated that Canyon Corsair Captains are the only ones who drop this.

    • Agitator Motor Parts

      • 2 Red Wires – lootable from Chunkers, Talus (very easy). The drop rate was very good.

      • 1 Cheap Copper Battery – lootable from Meatlumps, Corellia (easy). Meatlumps can be found outside most major cities on Corellia. I picked mine up from the bazaar, but from the number of batteries for sale, it looks like this is a very good drop.

      • 40 units of ferrous metal

General Tips:

  • There have been critical fails on final combine. I used Pyollian Cake to get a better assembly roll. There are no stats to experiment on and resource quality does not appear to matter.

  • Take a look at the galactic bazaar when looking for parts. Sometimes players put items up for instant sale when they don’t know what do to with it.

  • When taking missions for a loot objective I would take 2 missions in the same direction and clean each mission out 3 times before finishing it to maximize the number of NPCs I could loot.

The Final Product
by Ani'cul

hide= Synthesized Hide {all hide, scaley wooly leather becomes Hide}

meat= Processed Meat {all meats, avian insect herbavore EGG become meat}

bone= Ground Bone {any form of bone}

horn= BROKEN {the horn setting does not accept horn, nor does bone. it is a non working setting}

seafood= Processed Seafood {mollusk, fish, crustation all seafood}

milk= Homogenized Milk {wild domesticated..all milk}

Good luck dude. If you dont get stressed out if something doesnt drop in a reasonable amount of time then the quest for the CR can be fun. Much like the RIS epic hunt.

I hateses you

but in a good, rangerly way

I just need some blue wires and one schematic off, oh some thugs of some description on Lok (thinking about it makes me go GRRRRR) and for the past week or more it seems the Bria loot table is out to lunch

I'd not mind, but when they first came in I looted half a dozen or more coils of blue wire from npc's on Corellia and later deleted them as 'junk' because I needed some inventory space. After all, if i'd got that many that easy there must be LOADS of them about...

Grats on getting yours together tho!

[grits teeth]

and best wishes to your recycler... sooon, preshus, yesss, soon, the nasty wireses callsss to me...

It would be nice if there was more of a use for recycled resources. Obviously, being low quality (200 across the board) isn't a good material for anything that involves experimentation, so only crafting professions that dont experiment would really benefit.

I believe, though, that even Tailors, who do not experiment, still need things like WOOLY hide, LEATHERY hide, etc., and when you recycle hide, it no longer works for those schematic slots... probably only things that ask for "hide" or "organics" will be able to use it.

It would be great it we could get together a list of uses that Recycled Hide/Bone/Meat COULD be used for, other than our own traps/camps.

Just looking at swgcraft.com briefly... things that use hide and do not require experimentation are:

Artisan: Domestic Arts line of clothing

Architect: Novice - 4th level box furniture

Tailor: Alot, actually

Generally... the "high-end" items are more likely to require specific (wooly, leathery, etc) hides, so I'm not sure what sort of need there would really be. Maybe it's just me, but wouldn't it make sense for the new "vehicle restoration kits" to use recycled materials?

I hate to break this to you, but I think blue wire is only required for crafting a tumble blender, which is not needed for a creature recycler. The agitator motor requires red wires, which you can get pretty easily from chunkers in Narshall.

Hopefully this will save you some time :>

I just need to get out and get 4 more spinner blades, and I'll have my 5th and final one made. I've made the creature, metal, ore, and chemical... just have the flora recycler left.

Not sure why I need it... but I still want it!
