These changes are definitely good for SL's. Unfortunately, the attention that will be given to those abilities, should they be bugged like the CH revamp, will make it less likely to see our revamp's attention in the near future. I doubt we can even get a statement of when this year....

Well hey....ya never know....I can always hope...and we dont get kicked in the face and ask if we can have another, they pay so little attention to us now that they dont even expand the effort TO kick us in the face...

I wont hold my breath for a Ranger revamp just yet because SL is getting a revamp. I mean SL is a Combat profession with a role in the CU-profession schematic

Ranger is still absent from the CU profession/roles schematic, and is still not a real combat profession.

BUT

there may be a small ray of hope because the changes they are doing with SL have to be balanced out against the other combat porfessions so it would seem SOE is willing to actually undertake that effort.

We and SOE need to figure out what a Rangers role is supposed to be in a combat group.

Our revamp, whatever it would be would have to be pretty darn big set of changes in comparison to whats gone in for the SL's

Personally, the note that SLs will no longer need to be the group leader may be imbalancing, because now a group full of SL / other combat templates are gonna be too uber to deal with. The buffs, however, may just be single (i.e. no stacking.)

Lets see, in over 2 years of playing i've seen rangers get Tracking and Camo kits.

What's it like to get kicked in the face over and over again ONLY to say "may i have another"

And, in that time, SLs have seen nothing other than a small bone during the CU. Both Rangers and SLs need a lot of help. Thankfully, it looks like one of them is actually getting it now. Hopefully Ranger will come next.

Go back to the jedi forum, you goodfornothing pessimist. Squad leader getting love, is a huge thing for the ranger community as it tingles our hopes.

Well at least there are some optimists in here....and it is true....the squad leaders arent any better off then we were really, at least one of us is getting some attention, and it means they might start paying attention to us soon too.

I don't know whether to be happy for SL's or to cry. At least that leaves Rangers as the decidedly most broken profession in the game, we'll drop to the least mastered profession on the list, and then they'll have even less of a reason to acknowledge that we exist. Pessimistic? You bet.

What I want to know is if the SL correspondent had any idea this was coming, or even if any of the actual Squad Leaders knew either? If not, then we too can look forward to a revamp without our input, and with who know's what other kind of random changes may be finished being designed or even programmed without our support, knowledge, or even consent. I expect to be welcomed to the era of the PARK ranger.

On second thought, instead of calling them Squad Leaders, we could call them Following Inspirers. That makes more sense given their new non-leading role.

We are concerned with somthing of that sort happening SeanBlader. Yet just as now when most of our abilities either dont work or arent applicable, we took it upon ourselves to give leadership beyond the limitations of game mechanics. So we will again when the new inflow of born-again SL's flood our battles, true leadership will still be needed. One thing I want to say is that we aren't squad leaders without a squad to lead, so hopefully the other profession thathavebeenleft hangin will get worked on in turn.
