Congratulations on your first Huge Tremendously Fabulous Base.
I actually askedmy guildmates not to put one up when I was around and I avoided pictures of them so that the first one I saw would be one of my own construction. As this was the last box I needed for master, I was able to pitch my first HTFB and then get my Master title standing right there. But then I'm one of those that really like camps even though I don't "need" them.
They are a great part of the game. I carry a crate of HTFB's with me and will pop one up any chance I get, usually on the highest point of land I can find within 500m. And even though I know they don't last very long after I leave, I always leave them up when I move along so that others will know that a Master Ranger has passed that way.

Congratulations bud.
Making my first HTFB was also a major highlight of my ranger career, as was putting on my master ranger title for the first time and responding to my first 'What is a ranger' /tell.
Enjoy and good look on the rest of your journey.

I like that village. I keep finding nice stuff in the rubble piles, and walk about with maskscent or cammo on, right up next to the big cats and they just purr.
Then I get up on the balcony and splatter their minds out.
(JB, I think its only grinding if you're going 'oh i gotta get this by the end of the day or I'll never be an uberpvpgankgeeknerdpooflinger... When 'we' do it it's called 'working smart' )

I thought Master Ranger was the coolest title, the one that would most fill me with pride. I was wrong. Just out of curiosity, which FS tree gives the Uberpvpgankgeeknerdpooflinger tag, anyway?

I was just coaching along a novice scout i found camping outside theed. As with most noobs he/she'd never seen a HTFB and, since I'm still pretty new at being MR, i like showing them off. Just like when a fellow MR Guild Member did the same for me months ago. I was blown away back then too. Like a kid in a candy store is a good way of putting it, and it really made me enthusiastic that I would be able to build one myself someday. In fact, the fellow Guild Memeber gave me a HTFB to save in my inventory till I could use it, but I like it where it is in my Hunter Trophy Room (so far just a bunch of ranger nick nacks and a cool Bol Skull).
They may not be terribly usefull as a tool, but place one just outside a major beginner city and you'll meet all sorts of cool people, and hopefully they'll become good friends. In that way I think camps (esp. the big ones) are one of the best talents we have.

Making my HTFB for the first time and roaming thru it I was like a kid in a candy store. It was hard work but well worth it.
HTFB may not be very useful (right now) but you have to be a ranger to understand why we love them so much.

Now I need to get my trapping 1,2,3,4 and I will make master…

For trapping, get buffed, go to dath, find a lonely enraged bull rancor

dammit
throw phec dart or adhesive mesh (you get more phec darts and use less resources so that is my choice)
throw glow wire
throw glow wire
run like hell, I usually tried to scope out an escape path, draw it away from crowd of rancors in rancor heaven, until he de-aggroes
Repeat 1500-2000 xp per successful toss and they usually stick
If you have an acid ranged weapon, you shouldn't have too much trouble killing them, my trusty dxr6b disruptor > Enraged Bull Rancor
You want to be careful of Bull Rancors though, they have a nasty poison

Thank you all, I’ll be trying all that while working on my trapping.
Just one question though, when making traps dose the quality of the resources makes a difference?

I SAW my first one the other day. I'm at 3343 scout right now and covet that Ranger title. When I walked up on this one outside of Coronet I was awed. The Ranger sitting inside was really helpful and nice, wish I could remember their name.

Wow congrats on the HTFB!
As for getting trapping xp, this is what worked for me.... Yavin has lots of creatures that give 300+ trapping xp (giant anglers worked or me) and it's not uncommon to find a lair of them near anther lair of non-agro creatures. I would take a ton of the traps that lower ranged defense only (can't remember name)... get the angler's attention and then run through the non-agro creatures. Usually the angler would start fighting them and lose agro on you. They'll hold him in place and you can just trap away from a safe distance. Since you're lowering ranged defense, you're not helping the other creatures damage your target any faster.
