I have been searching for a Gorax seemingly forever. You would think Master Ranger would encounter these every once in a while...but I have yet to have one appear when area tracking. Does anyone have any tips, tricks, or spawn points that they would like to share? They even removed it from the Marauder quests. NOW WHAT? Argh.

I just want to kill a Gorax. Am I asking for too much?

Regardless, Ranger profession rocks.

It's the same with all the rare spawns. I even had trouble finding any sharnaffs on Corellia the other day (and those aren't especially rare). I think the problem is that you are actually trying to find it. Good luck with it, though. Just don't expect much. I usually go to the planet with the best resource around and hunt for its rare creatures while gathering whatever I can. At least that way I'm not completely wasting my time.

I have heard it spawns in the northern desert area. I myself have been searching for one off and on for the past couple months, but to no avail. I fully expect fo find one when I am the only one from my guild who is online. One other tidbit that I cannot verify is that a stoneskin hadanak is the precursor to the Gorax spawn. I.e. if you kill the stoneskin hadanak a Gorax MAY spawn. All unconfirmed rumors, but it is a start.

Are you doing a search for animals or humanoids? This will sound odd, but I am fairly sure the Gorax is a humanoid NPC, unless they have changed it since it was discovered. In early screenshots of the Gorax you can see an interest icon over it's head, and people that killed it reported it couldn't be harvested. I think there was something else that suggested it was considered a humanoid NPC, but I can't remember.

Im not even a Ranger but ive been searching for Gorax. An yes it would make sense for him to be an NPC. Reason being he appeared in the Star Wars christmas special or something. But he was a bad guy an could talk I believe. So yes he is intelligent an is most likely considered an NPC. Which begs the question....Does he drop phat lewtz?

I mean Giant MonkeyMenusually have good stuff on them.

When it comes to finding something that is a non-mission spawn, what I've found is that about the only time you can find it anymore, at least on my server, is to look for it shortly after the server reset. When you get on towards the evening with everyone doing missions and such, you just don't see many random spawns anymore and things become impossible to find.

And why do you want to kill the Lorax?....
