Rangers of all galaxies, but ecspecially valcyn as i know theeconomy is good enough for this proposal. Do not sell your animal resources for under 10cpu, unless it's for a friend or something. We work hard to get these resources in the quantities that people want them and should be some of the richest players in the game. But instead we are shafted and are paid only one or two cpu. If you are already selling yours for over 10 cpu great. But remember how hard you work to get all of these resources, make others understand that.

I track, sell and give resources away at my own descretion, I just make it point to always be fair depending on the situation, including the situation whereI just want to help a fellow player craft something nice. The core rangers in this profession seem to lean towards helping others when we can, and that includes selling or giving away our resources to players for nothing more than the love of the game.

Im not a ranger yet, but am on my way. I think as mentioned above it shold be on a case-by-case basis. It should depend on who you are doing business with and what kind of quality you have. I can guess from talking to rangers that you will take in some decent credits with the organics you do harvest considering you are plying your profession and you arent upkeeping harvestors.
I have no bones with folks who wanna sell for 2cr or 10cr per cpu. I find that if you are fair in business rather than profit hungry your repeat business will be worth far more than your huge sales of expensive meats in the long run. Be fair and folks will seek to do more business with you. Mug them and they wont. Sell too low and they will look to abuse it (not all folks but some will).
Just my humble opinion.

Feh. I'm shooting the critters anyway. 2cpu seems a fair price for grinding grade stuff, or, if you've fot a pretty face I'll maybe let you have it for free.

I usually don't hunt for under 25 cpu. I spend most of my time hunting Black Suns to pass the time away.

30 cpu is my limit. Anything less than that and I'm better putting it into my factory for crates of traps or trading it straight up for goods and services.

Yes, follow his advice.
I will sell for 8 cpu and sell more than ever.
A short economics course on why price fixing usually doesn't work and how the free market system is designed to work.

Right now I have about 280k crappy bristley from doing krayts ... it isnt selling for 10 cpu so down goes the price.
Unless its something off rancors I generally dont hunt a resource specific unless its 80 cpu or more. Going for loot is better otherwise.

When working with novice Scouts (and amazingly sometimes novice Rangers) helping them learn to make a living I always encourage them to to be "market minded" in their hunting. By which I mean when they are hunting (usually gaining experience for one or more combat professions) to pick a creature resource (such as Tatooine Leather) and hunt just that until they have a stack of at least 1,000 units. This way they have a better chance of selling what they are hunting.
I usually recommend that they build a supplier/buyer relationship with an Architect or novice Armorsmith in the early days because most of what they can hunt will be short stacks of grind quality resources cullled from Rill, Worts, Gnorts, Butterflies and the like ( The insanity of 350 cpu hunts for Tatooine Avian will come later).
I usually suggest that grind quality stacks of 1,000 or more will sell for around 5-7 cpu even on the Bazaar. I don't bother discussing 25k unit stack pricing because as novices they usually can't hunt that large a stack during a shift. In general, do ya'll think this is about right both in terms of the stack size and the price? And remember, I'm not suggesting that this is the fastest way for a Scout to make monkey (that would be collecting milk), a but rather just helping them understand that disciplined hunting can yield experince and credits.

I guess for me it's always been close to a RP kind of thing. Even when the Beaver Pelt trade was in full swing in North America, it wasn't the trappers who were living large. I know I didn't pick up Ranger to become wealthy, I did it to be self sufficient. Having said that, I took a break from the game last summer, but since I have been back I am amazed at how many credits I can make from very generous crafters. Granted inflation has gone up as well, but I had never been a millionaire till I started playing again last month.
In my little head I'm very wealthy at the moment, but if I bought two crates of Brandy, I would cut my net worthin half!
Well the economy may be a bit upside down, but as long as I don't get that way I guess I'm happy.
Now keep in mind that I only get to play a few hours a week, and my goal was never to be uber in wallet size, or in possessions, but simply to be able to enjoy those few hours of hunting I get each week. Ranger is awesome for just that.
If you want 10 cpu for items the simple rule is hunt, or gather what the crafters are needing. If you supply, what is in demand, you'll find getting 65-75 cpu not out of the question. If you can build up a good rapport with a few key artisans. Between those two concepts I have done very well for my self, and couldn't be more happy.
