I created a character with the Master Ranger/Master Rifleman template (CL 80). Then I went out on Naboo to test it out.
About 1k out of town I come across a Faamba (CL 34). So I attack it with my T21 using head shots, and a few knee shots to keep it snared, while running away from it. And I cant even get it half way down in it health before it start retreating and runs away faster then I can keep up.
Same result with every other rifle I am certified fore.

I will have to test carbineer, and if that falls throe as well guess I will have to drop master ranger, something I really did not wish to do.

I had a similar experience, including when I used my converted character as part of the TC process. But keep in mind that only creatures up to level 50 may be properly balanced (and even they probably aren't). Although TH has made some conflicting statements, the login screens still say we should just be looking at level 15-50.

Ah, but your creature was 34. So, yeah we are screwed.

Kidding!

Yeah, they like to retreat now. Great. As if them warping away wasnt enough. Now we have to chase them down. Lets not forget about avians. Man, they can truck it away quick as could be. I hardly ever fight them just cause I dont want to have to track them for 150m to kill them! lol

Got to say I am perplexed also.

Found some krettle kill krettle I think all is not lost.

Find 3 mountain squill.

So I apply Mask scent at 70, go prone crawl to 64 meters.

Fire Concealshot at the closest one.

Watch all 3 instantly aggro on me and close on me.

Now I know its my fault for not doing any real testing yet on TC I ahve had other priorities so far.

But does mask Scent or Cover even work?

I killed the Squill but they did a number on me. reminds of how the game used to be when I started last year.

Also decided to see what affect the foods and drink would do that I keep in my backpack

Was surprised to see in the combat log. Vasarian, Ahrisa, Vercupti no longer stack.

Popped a moun to check its affects. +20% Health and +20% health regen rate.

My new drug of choice.

Yeah, the foods are definitely a let down. I'm all out of Neutron Pixie - I want to see what that converts to. Right now it's my Hail Mary spice when I've exhausted all other options, and it's saved my butt plenty of times.

You mentioned prone/crawling... any indication that your stance even makes a difference? Since distance is meaningless I've been wondering about that.

Not sure about /maskscent. I have been using it on two of my ranger pretty frequently. It does not seem to give XP until you shoot at something then it gives scouting XP, but everything in the group aggros to you. After the fight, if youwin, you find out if you hit /maskscent again that it still is on and supposedly working. So I am not sure in these experiences how much good /maskscent does.

Interestingly my Ranger/CH also uses /maskscent a lot to catch and tame babies, and it seems to work very well. The animals don't seem to notice me unless I aggro the baby then suddenly they are very aware of me, which is how it happened in the old combat system anyway. But once again it is not broken. If I try to re-apply it, I am told that my maskscent has worn off, and then i re-apply it immediately and it gives me usual message about masking my scent. But I don't get any XP unless I shoot at something. Frustrating!

So I really don't know what is going on for sure with it, but I don't think it is working right at this point.

Oh, I'll wait. My next billing date is 05-15, I think that fits

I think I have already resigned to the fact that this CU will be released 05-05 no matter what. I will adapt or leave. And I will try to adapt because of the friends in my guild. But if they leave because of the changes, so will I.

I'm totally relaxed right now, strange

Well that was the decision I came to my self some time ago... adapt. And it is why I am back on TC now that the skill builder is up. I am testing out templates to se if there is any way for me to keep ranger and still be able to solo when I feel like it.

Stress comes from worrying about the unknown, when we decided how to deal with the CU in the worst-case experience then we removed the worries and replace them with knowledge of what to do. The only problem is that if it drags on to long it will turn in to apathy. But 23 days should not do that.

23 days is a long time. That's enough time for a hamster to meet a mate, get pregnant, have babies and start looking for another mate..

Oppossum are even worse, with a gestation period of only 13 days.
