This isnt quite a rant just some things I been thinking on.

With two boxes left in my FS grind I find myself wandering around Lok with bunches of newbs and wusses looking to go the easy route for grinding xp. These guys just seem to want to gang rush lairs, get incapped and then cry that combat is bugged.

Some guys just stand back in their cool cloaks and take a quick pot shot once as the creature goes to 2/3rds health to get their xp. These guys are getting nothing out of combat but xp. No real "experience", no learning tactics. If I'm group leader I kick goobers like this. There is no I in group.

Then I had one group of all 80's. A handful wearing armor and one or two tanks. Figured we would do pretty decent. We went up to this lair of gurks. Level 82's. So, I stand back at 60m and try to pull one up. Everyone attacks something different. I'm talking in Groupchat.. "come back away from the lair. You will get multi aggro. Dont tap the lair! No AOE attacks. As they spawn they will aggro you if your near and in combat!" No one listens. Majority of us get incapped.. some deaths. Why? Cause despite their high level they are dumb!. Flat ignorant players. No armor, no brains and no tactics. If this is the future generation of jedi the BH's are gonna laugh themselves to death before they can make the deathblow.

With this new method of having only a handful of creatures that I can attack for a challenge and experience it really limits what I would like to do. Its boring as heck gurking with newbs and so called "133t" players. Not to mention that as a CL 80 I do alot more damage than everyone else which brings all mobs to me. Tanks cant tank and medics just cant seem to get it done.

I miss wandering around Endor getting xp from 1k to 5k depending on what I wanted to challenge. Spiders had great potential to poison me so bad I had to run like mad from them. Tanc Mites would disease me pretty good and hit hard if I was multiaggroed. When I wandered Endor I enjoyed myself. Sure, I was solo. Sure I was overpowered in the old system. But man I had fun. Maskscent kept me hidden unlike now it breaks a gray aggro so I have to fight something 40 levels below me. I remember being surprised that a Borkdok could incap me. It was great.. the good ole days.... heh

Grouping is not helping players use tactics. Its creating a machine that can plow through high level critters. Its boring. I know they want to encourage grouping but where is the solo aspect? I know some of us Rangers can use that trap and do a bit more soloing than most but that too wont last forever. Hope the rest are fixed by then.

I got more thrill from running about as a TKM with no buffs, no armor and just a sackful of food, drinks and spices to get me through. I dont get the same thrill in a group and you just cant solo anymore. Tactics will only take you so far when your action runs out fast.

/sigh Well, I guess that is a rant... lol.

Alright it should be known that I'm a Master Rifleman/Master Pistoleer with Scout 2000. Few points tied up in Artisan and FS for the moment. I felt way more capable as a Ranger than I do as a double combat mastery.

BTW, any pistoleers care to give me a Pistols 101 lesson? I ashamedly admit that I'm a respec Pistoleer.. :/

Stand outside the starport on Lok (its so easy to find even a respec BH won't get lost)

Spam "LFG!! LFG!!! Am on autoinvite !! LFG!!! (if AFK pm me and i'll be back in 5)" or "Gurk group forming!!! ONLY CL80!! Grinding XP! ONLY CL80 COMBAT ONLY!!!1!"

When you are invited to a group, run around looking for a buff and an entertainer to do them mind inspreatation things.

If bored while waiting, d00l me n00b is another fun fun metagame.

Get a couple of gurk missions. It doesn't matter if you dont' get yours done, soon as you max XP just hop a shuttle to dathomir and go to teh villagepeeples.

Find out who the group leader is. Target him and start to autofollow. Use autoattack to target what he's targetting. Go for a cup of coffee.

Chat with your buddies in guildchat, never mind all that combat spam and dumbassed n00b stuff where they're telling folks to target this or don't shoot that. D00d, if they don't want to play porperdly they shoudn't not of been playing anyway. Probably crafter respec n00b weiners.

(If you are going to play Gurkino Maxxo, a lobotomy would help, as would dosing yourself up on intravenous sugar and screaming w00t i em teh r0xx0r, a LOT)



Anyone wants to hunt, I'll be quietly sending tells to a chosen few and proably shuttling as far, far away from your Gurkino groups as I can.

I really don't want to seem like i'm doing a slap down or anything. Have you only been group hunting with random people you meet? I've found that doing that is the best way to see a cloner. But Many times I have gone out to endor and Dath with a smae group of friends. We all listen to each other apply states when need be and it not only great xp, its even more fun. Just take 2 or 3 friends out and mess around on yellow cons.

Well, I have to admit that yes, only seem to meet up with random groups. Dont get me wrong though. I have been with groups of players who really know their stuff. They get organized. Use pets or droids to pull and help each other out. Only rarely tho.

Sadly my guild is kinda sparse these days. We went out and killed a couple of the DKM's outside the Mining Outpost on Dant. I swam around the DJM occasionally standing up in the shallows to get his attention and then swam some more. I felt like crappy fish bait. It was zero challenge and still boring. No loot of course. Its rare to see more than four of us online at a time. Some are hooked in WoW and EQ2.

I enjoy playing alot. I guess I am just disgusted at myself for falling into goober gurk grinders bunch and am just bored with it. I actually nodded off today gurking. Its more a job than a game really.

Anyone have any recommendations where I should go for a change of pace? Level 70+ would be nice. With them scattered around planets so few and far between its a long time walking to find something worth fighting. I hate being tethered to a mission terminal and doing laps back and forth to it. I just miss wandering planets and fighting for xp even if it was just 1k.

Random people? Ug.

It's hard enough grouping with guild members I haven't trained. They break my cover, I have to explain how to get the most out of camo, they break my pop-tarts.

Well, you can always do what I do. I play with Theo, Thamara and Allicia a.k.a. Me, Myself and I. It maynot easy managing three accounts on two computers but it's doable.

My three person team:

Theo:master brawler, master swordsman, master TK. Purpose: Tanking and doing major damage

Thamara: master doctor, master swordsman, scout 3040. Purpose: healing, buffing, doing major damage, harvesting

Allicia: going for master TKM, going for master ranger. Purpose: pulling, harvesting, doing a bit of damage.

Modus Operandi: Allicia pulls one creature by throwing a trap. Theo then uses taunt to take aggro. If there is more than one creature then he uses area taunt. Thamara uses armor break. Then Thamara and Theo use a combination of critical strike and headhit. Allicia just uses her auto-attack. When needed Thamara heals. Thamara and Allicia harvest.

Even CL82's don't last long with that combination of specials. And with two harvesters I now get between 800 and 1000 per creature. Andmore once allicia becomes master ranger.

Unfortunately, not everybody has more than one account. And trying this with three different players will probably fail miserably.

(Two weeks ago I grinded so many Gurcks that I had 1.5 million Lokian Leather in just a few days. And I then sold them for 6.5 million.)

Please tell me that wasn't a post explaining how to play with myself....
