Formerly I was a Master Ranger/ Master Pistoleer and I have been playing around with TKA and I must say that I love it.

Ive currently left the ranger/ scout profession but not for any Ranger Issues, I maxed out my scout/ survival/ trapping/ pistol/ combat xp and was not having any fun, so I am exploring other professions.

Turns out that I miss being a Ranger, I miss the forums and I am planning on joining the ranks again soon.

My question is....how do the melee rangers enjoy it, what are your exploits and your gripes, I like TKA, but a swordsman ranger (hmmmm Aragorn) that might be really fun too. Tell me your stories and your suggestions, Im gonna do whats fun, so tell me what your had fun doing

One quick note is that if you master TKA, you can heal states and even wounds (I have not made it that far, but I have heard the stories). That can certainly make you self sufficient while hunting. Plus the melee damage mods and mitigation certainly help. You can be your own tank. Plus how much fun is to to smack the crap out of stuff...anybody can kill using a gun.

I'm a master TKA and was a Master Ranger. It's a great combo. Your insane attack speed and damage means that you'll be an organic gathering machine, and you'll never have to see a city except to heal you battle fatigue. Meditate will take care of bleeds, poison, disease, and wounds, reducing downtime on hunts and negating the need for a doctor to remove your state effects.

I dropped master and the trapping and frontiering lines in order to pick up more defenses from fencer, but I don't think I'll ever be able to give up TKM or my Hunt Master title.

Darn skippy I am easily riled. Specially after the day I had.

One - It is not a "gun", unless it is a shot gun or a machine gun. Or a cannon. Other than that, it's a weapon, pistol, rifle or carbine. I thank you, as does R. Lee Ermey.

Two - while many people can use weapons, it does take a while to learn to use them proficiently. And to use the appropriate tactics with that weapon. The "Duke Nukem" school of spray and slay doesn't work here (Shhhh, don't tell the rest of the game that, I will quit winning so much in PvP).

Three - oops, hijacked another thread we did

Four - I have nothing against TK, or fencers, or pikespeople. I have hunted with all three quite a bit. I prefer the fencers and pikespeople, I got more Medic XP off them than the TK. Neat sounds, good graphics, and fun to watch. But wow, do novices get beat on.

Five - Ok, same old tired argument. If I can stand 64 meters out and bleed you and make you die that way, why would I want to run up and play tag with you with a pointy stick?

Yes, I firmly believe my next holo will say Image Designer, then Pike, then BH, and my hidden will be TK. I also still hate rasps, dirty little birds.

Heh, actually he does. It's odd to see sometimes that the only "main posters" on this forum are almost like "Representatives" of their Servers.

There aren't many from the same server, or maybe just not any from mine so I don't notice, that post on the boards a great deal to voice their opinions in matters of developer control. -errrr, Hijack.

Move along...nothing to see here.

I love being a Ranger TKM. And yes, having meditate heal bleeding, poison, disease, and wounds is GREAT! The group of folks I hunt with now just call me Pet Oxran because I tank like crazy. It is not unusual to see the emote on the screen "Oxran Hungry!" when I am around

Having the meditate heal all thosethings I don't care where the good resources are. Whatever the creatures hit me with, I just shake it off and harvest more than anyone else because of being a Ranger. Also, it makes Rescue a wonderful thing! You don't care if 5 creatures jump you to save your friend...just hit Center of Being...maybe put on some armor if it is Rancors and away you go! Right now I have been hunting Dath Insect Meat on Gaping Spider Recluses and don't care that they poison just about everytime I attack them.

I am currently 2handed Swordsman 0/2/0/2 and Ranger 1/1/1/2. I must say, I am loving it. I am able to get loads of scouting XP pretty fast. I have thousands of hides, bones, and meats from harvesting fast. I never use a pet to tank because it doesn't work well with melee, so I find myself getting buffs then heading out to Endor, Dathomir, or Dantooine to hunt. You get great satisfaction by taking huge things down, then harvesting its goodies
