Thread: The push for better harvesting has begun.
- I have posted a thread on the Correspondent Forumin regards to the Million Monkey Proposal (yikes). It references the the current Proposal we have. This thread has recieved nothing but positive feedback from those Correspondents who have chosen to post. In this thread, I questioned the Devs about if this was possible (they, ususally TH, do give responses there). I also brought up harvesting multiple resources, but made it known that that was secondary to an increased harvest.
- I would like to hold off posting the Million Monkey Proposal on the crafting fourms until I get an answer from TH regarding the issue, but I will send the posts out tomorrow if I haven't heard anything.
- The response I got regarding the Outdoorsman Proposal is *sigh* the same as always...wait until later. I did use this response (not a dircet quote, mind you) as leverage for the Million Monkey Proposal.
So, that's where the proposal stands right now. I will keep you updated.
congrats...im crossing my fingers in the hope that this works

"wait until later"
I hate to ask the obvious question, BUT...what in the name of high quality avian meat is "later"? Next Publish? post-Space Expansion? <sigh>

On this point, can you ask if they have looked at it closely and have an opinion on it? Not a when but an if? Can we look forward to being Outdoorsmen or will we just be creature hunters? They might not be able to tell us when it would be implemented but can they tell us if they are even considering implementing it? Even if it's a "still open for discussion" or a "you will never get the Outdoorsman" then we have something to work with. We just need to have some idea of what we are working towards to know what to look at.

later...a moment in time that is further in distance / time as it is from now.
I really love qualitative answers that seem like a response and yet say nothing (sarcasm)

I know I wholeheartedly supportthebetter harvesting idea. Sorry I haven't posted something akin to that on the other forum Calculus.

your support and hopefully the other profs as well will give credence and weight to this all too modest a proposal.

This is a bad idea IMHO. Pushing to make us better harvesters before we are better hunters is not a good idea. What happens when we ask for better traps and better skills down theline and the devs say "that will make you too powerful, you will harvest too much and the market will flood with resources. You got your harvest increase now sit down"
All you naysayers who think we shouldn't ask for too much are going to ruin the whole plan. If you ask someone for 100% and they only give you 60% your much better off than if you ask for 10% and they only give you 6%.
And remember, once combat is balanced ALL PROFESSIONS will be fleshed out. which means the devs will be looking to give professions exactly the type of things we are asking for.
So push for better traps, better creature defenses and offenses, make us better hunters not harvesters. Better hunters = better harvests in the long run.
The Devs are not stupid. They realize that such a change does not make us a complete profession. Do you really think the reason the Devs are making us wait so long for changes is because they gave us /areatrack and /conceal. Even if they are, the proposal specifically states, "Such a solution is only a partial fix. Scouts and Rangers will still have many problems but these changes should help increase the general supply of resources and help to mitigate the inflation present in most servers' economies." The main point here is that this is something that can be hotfixed in. The rest needs time to be implemented. Have a look at the full proposal here.
