am i the only person that thinks the title for tracking 4, hunt master, is lame?

when i read it... i don't think star wars. it doesn't seem right... but the title of TRACKER... that sounds better, it sounds much better. it is a clearer description of that particular skill tree.

hunt master does not directly relate to tracking... indirectly, yes... but not directly

i think tracker would be a better title! who else agrees?

The title has been around longer than we have had tracking. The tree was renamed tracking when they added the skill. And there are much bigger problems we need fixed before we really start worrying about this. And Hunt Master is not that bad anyway. The tree isn't all about tracking. The creature knowledge part is really useful as well. Either way, we are not that big on petitions in this forum. We know they don't do anything anyway.

No way! This is the only title I use, don't take it away from me! I am the hunt master of my guild =)

I use trap master. Anyway, if you want a ranger title, shoot for master

Iprefer "Tracker", as well. It's more descriptive.

Having said that, "Hunt Master" is just about the coolest title available. Maybe it could replace "Wayfarer" or something.

the negative nature of some people never ceases to amaze me.

some of you had great responses... the fact you like the current title. someone mentioned the history of the skill and how the name related to it... all great responses.

but then i got some idiot saying...

constructive - we like the title, fact is, we as a class thought it up

constructive - if you have been in the profession for a while, you will know that the title was changed once, and we didn't use a freaking petition to do so. We asked, we used logic, we floated some ideas, we voted, we got what we wanted.

constructive - I still agree with Bihlbo, petitions are for morons, they get nothing done. Instead, float an idea with reasons and some logic behind it. ( thinking the name sucks is neither) If people agree with you, you get supporting posts, if not, you get flamed and your silly azz idea goes away.

any further questions?

oh yeah, if you have been here any amount of time, you would know I get to flame petitions, BHs, and rasps, in any order.

JB is the resident flamer. He has a long history of flaming people for posts exactly like this. If he didn't do it to this thread, most of our forum would be shocked. It has almost become a running joke. Don't take it too personally. And, without him, this forum would be a much worse place for the regulars. If you need an explanation for his response, just look through his post history. I think he's just tired of adding it every time a certain type of thread pops up. The main reason he does it is quite simple--threads like these are often looked upon with the same sentiment as you have towards his response. There are a few things we try to avoid in this forum. One of them is petitions.

We have some more pressing issues than the title for the tracking tree. If the devs were to change it as you suggest, then they would feel that they had "given us" something and our other more important issues would sit idle at the side.

There are far bigger fish to fry that the tracking tree title. The true Rangers know this. I get the feeling you are one of many who has just done the tracking tree and nothing else in ranger.

i have been a master ranger.

it was basically a worthless skill set, except for tracking.

and this really disappoints me, becuz i like the idea of ranger.

it was either smuggler or ranger for me... i was both until i discovered tkm and other combat professions. now i have to give up one. master ranger was my favorite badge to earn... but as a skill set it's pretty much broken and non-functional at this point.

and i did give a reason for the change... i said "hunt master" does not directly tie to "tracking", but "tracker" would.

and you people need to give the devs a break. changing things this far into the game... it's no easy task. it'll take lots of time to fix things. you have NO idea the amount of code they have to check and change to make any changes to any profession.
