Thread: Rangers....Jedi protectors?
And imperial rangers keep the darksiders safe? Sound like fun ![]()

The idea has been put forward before, and it's a great one. Even if we have to "declare" as Antarian versus non-Antarian, it'd be great. I wouldn't even mind winding up on the terms as a result, if we could just do this. I mean, if five BH can take on one Jedi, the single Jedi should get *some* help. I don't recall Han and Leia just standing by whenever something shot at Luke. ![]()

Why not try and push for us (once the revamp is in focus) for this to be one of our abilities. We accompany jedi and once a BH attacks them we can help jedi fend them off. Just an idea, been reading some star wars books lately (bored at work) and found some cool stuff about antarian rangers.
The Antarian Rangers have huge potential as a core structure for role players. There are, or were, a few chapters of AR on different galaxies, some RP some not.
There used to be some around here, in a more civilised age...

You know that's really interseting. Recently I was begining to wonder what the best way to handle rangers would be since alot of our closely held abilities were getting handed out.
Since the game is becoming alot mroe Jedi-centric, I think that it would be great to see Rangers take on a role that was meant to be something along the lines of the non-jedi anti-bounty hunter.
I'm not sure how I'd build it into our skillset quite yet, but I think that this might prove to be a really interesting change in focus for the profession.
I'm not 100% behind it but I think it might have some cool potential eh?

If YOU want to protect Jedi.. well, do it! Nobody stops you.
But ME is not the type of ranger, who saves the butt of a powergrinding, lightsaber-swinging guy with silly names.. if i want to become more "antarian", i'll put up a PA.. but i want to be a real ranger, who does hunting, exploring and all that stuff.. i am no f-ing bodyguard
I understand ![]()
I just thought it might be a cool role from which to base some skills off of. You wouldn't HAVE to protect Jedi, but the skills that might be geared towards it would make the game interesting.
Had player bounties ever been instituted I think that BHs would have been split into the BH vs Jedi, BH vs Player crowd.
Again, not saying make it our role, I just thought it was a refreshing idea that might be an interesting thing to peruse. ![]()

I understand totally bro, I really do. I just would like more content that is fitting for SWG. I also have a different outlook on rangers than most do. Being a former airborne ranger I look at ranger being more of a combatant and less of a hunter, survivalist yes, but not a hunter. I think they tried to make ranger in this game too much like middle ages games, you know, the ranger with the bow and arrow and pet. I would like to see us as survivalist (steath/concealment) , marksmen (accuracy/speed mods) , trappers (huminoid traps that can be static), and hand to hand combat or bayonet combat (adds defense to this line).
*This is just my opinion and nothing more.
