Thread: What combat skills do you back up your Ranger with?

I was originally planning pistoleer/ranger but I keep hearing that a bounty hunter with maxed pistol skills is better with pistols than a master pistoleer is. Then again, maybe commando would be better. I really can't quite decide, though I'm mostly leaning towards BH, since at least it comes with a new type of mission. Then again, maybe I should forsake all my hard earned pistol skills and go Teras Kasi artist. Or, if Steven Segal movies are any indication, Master Chef's probably kick a lot of ass. The one from Halo does, anyway.

What do you guys think?

I use somepistoleer skills and just enough Creature Handler skills to keep one pet. Not trying to be all-powerful, it's just thata ranger with an animal companion just feels right to me.

2 hand sword here as well... if i went ranged i would probably go rifle though, the range and conceal shot and the camo bonuses would be nice i think, not positive they work together though.

I'd say logically, a Master Ranger/Master Rifleman would make the most Lethal combination in PvE. Personally I am going with Master Ranger/Master Carbineer. I beleive this leaves 18 skill points reamaining, meaning I could also get Novice Creature Handling and up to the 3rd level in any of the four skill sets withing Creature Handling. Of course, this is just how I plan for my character to end up. No telling what I might end up doing when they start implementing the "Elite-Elite" Professions.

Last I checked, Master Ranger/Master Pistoleer left me with only 4 skill points. One of did our math wrong. It was probably me, forgetting that I calculated that while still keeping novice entertainer or something.

JediJazz, you don't have to be a master marksman to be a master carbinier. Maybe that is what Cra4sh is thinking about doing. I personally am going to master ranger and use my remaining points to ger up my novice carbinier attack skills and novice bounty hunter carbine skills. That way I have more content to play with and i am dead accurate (and sexy) with a carbine.

I am a Rifleman/ Ranger. I like using the rifle because you can kill creatures before they even knew what hit them. Rifles also does alot of damage. I get bounuses like sniper accuracy and concealment which is a plus to me. My terrian negotiation gives me bonuses on crawl speed and so does Rifleman.
