Well guys, it's been a few months since the last Great Ranger Meet. The last one was during JTL Beta, when we had access to the blue froggies and we went after Gorax (with no luck) 
Now that the Chocolate Leezard isn't running things anymore, it's time for Owen to pick up the ball, and run with it, and get us all together for The Great Kreetle Hunt of 2005. or some other fun thing like that.
So Owen, the ball is in your court, so lets get a Ranger Meet together.
Time and Location i don't really care about, just whatever's convinient for everyone. If we have it on Lowca, i can promise you won't be bothered by many players, as our server's population is decreasing very fast it seems. I've got a nice city on Lok i'm Mayor of, and a Master Tailor, Master Artisan, 3-3-3-3 Weaponsmith that can supply you guys with some Cammo clothing. I could also bust open a case of Teero's World Famouse "Ultra-Uber CDEF Carbines of DOOM!!!" to use. And believe me, the name of those carbines is not false advertising. You'll be had pressed to find a better CDEF carbine around. I've also got a crate of 98% effective fishing rods i made as well. 
And since im mayor of New Kabala on Lok, I can place any trainers in town we may need if we hunt on Lok.

If it were on Ahazi I wouldnt have to make a new character and spend ages grinding it upto master ranger... Think about it. Ahazi is best.

Well, I'm partial to Kauri obviously But will be happy to travel. Incidentally, one of our members dropped Master Ranger recently and rerolled a Squad leader. So this would be a great way for him to get XP, and at the same time we'd be able to boost all the new scout's terrain negotiation. One of our Rangers is also a master swordsman, so we could fight Kimos on lok while he tanks.
I'm open to any server.. But what planet should we do this time?
BTW, Icarus, you don't have to be a Ranger to participate.. I'd say 80% of the group has always been noob scouts.. Uber 0000 noob scouts. Part of the fun is everyone running around in a group and levelling up pretty fast and training each other. Not to mention "The Harvesting Amoeba".

I'd be up for exploring a new server for a day. In fact, I'd probably start a toon a few days early just to have SOME kind of skill. let me know when and where.

This is a stupid question, so forgive my noobishness; can you really use your char on different servers?

This is not what is being suggested... I think. The idea is that you simply start up a new toon on the given server. Your account lets you have 1 character on 8 different server. Therefore, you would have a COMPLETELY new toon on a new server that you would play with for a day (or more) and then go back to your main toon after the event. Of course, if the event happens to be held on YOUR server, then you would use your current ranger toon.
I'm speaking as someone who has never been to a meet like this though, so correct me if I'm mistaken.

I am also going to suggest that rather than having us all waste time saying "oooh, let's do it on MY server", we concede right now that Oreet is puting some great initative forward here and clearly has the means and the will to put a great event together. Therefore, IMHO, Oreet's server -Lowca- should be where we hold this.
If we get over the location hurdle now, we put our efforts towards planning and get this show on the road sooner rather than later!

Guess I better explain the concept of the Great Ranger Meet.
In the past, we've had Ranger get togethers. Basically here's what happens:
Whoever coordinates the event, picks a server, usually a server where we've got at least one person with money to burn, so that we can get some equipment. whether it's some low level weaponry, armor, clothing, buffs, food, brandy, mounts, whatever.
Then the poeple participating will create a NEW character on that server if they do not already have a character on that server.
Then basically we just have a great time being a bunch of noobs running around on a new server hunting stuff, and leveling up Scout, Ranger, and our combat skills.
It is mostly just meant to be a fun break from your regular gameplay and server, in order to meet and hang out with some fellow rangers.
One of the reasons i was sort of suggesting Lowca for the meet is that we are a very low population server (meaning a bit less lag). and also since my second account is a Master Tailor, Master Artisan, and grinding Weaponsmith at the moment, I can craft alot of the supplies we'd need to at least have a bit of firepower and to look stylin' while doing it. Plus since i'm mayor of a town on lok, if we wanted to hunt on lok, and really have a fun time being noobs who are almost killed by Flits and Kusaks, then at least we'd have a friendly town to use as a center of operations. plus we could sit back in the Krusty Kimogila Cantina in town for a few drinks afterwards.
as far as when to create your character for the event, do so whenever you wish, and feel free to grind up a combat profession in order to be a bigger help when we're out there getting stomped by gurks or whatever we decide to hunt.
Hope this info helps clear up the air for anyone who hasn't been to a Ranger Meet. Personaly, i have only beeen to the last one, whcih was during JTL Beta, so we had access to the character builder frogs, so it was a large squad of Master Rangers scouring Endor for Gorax. I also grabbed Master Rifleman off there, and had a blast using a Berzerker rifle. (can't wait til they fix the bug with the component for that gun)

really? i actually beat someone in a pvp contest? i'm surprised i don't remember that. actually, i was a master rifleman master Ranger at that meet, so maybe i did beat you. i dunno.
sometime we'll meet on the battlefield again with CDEF pistols from 10 paces. but it'd have to be a server that we're both noobs on.

I was my normal template, Master Ranger/TKM. I think I knew which end of the gun to point at you, but not much else. Also, I distinctly remember getting tagged at least once for about 17 points of damage, so I'm thinking you won the duel.
And I've been burning for vengeance ever since. My very dreams are plagued by memories of that shameful defeat.
Next time it'll be a fistfight. And I wanna fight Teero instead.

LOL.
Ah, I guess I'll let it go. I have a hard time holding grudges against other rangers, anyway. If you were an image designer or a jedi, though... well, things might not be so nice and peaceable.

OK< coming to this late as usual, lol, but, yep, we need a GRM to kick the new year off.
Lowca would be great. Not sure if I've still got a toon there, but if I don't I'll start one.
TC would be nice too, but, as the guild there is just getting on it's feet maybe we should hold TC back until the next one, and have an official launch? With fireworks. And stuff...
Heck, I don't mind where it is, lol, so long as I can get there!
