so i was at the rebel outpost on rori today running nudfuh missions to get pistol and scouting xp as well as some credits. i got 10,000 trapping xp and i asked a rebel who's title was "trap master" to train me in advanced trapping I. he said because i wasn't a rebel he wouldn't train me. i asked why, and he replied it was a matter of principle. a matter of principle? pathetic. it's a game. who cares? some people take games way to literally, this ranger was one of them. i am neutral btw, just resigned from the rebel faction because it was full of dumb rebels like him.

i don't care how long it takes, i am going to erase those -5000 imperial faction points and become an imperial. then i will attack that rebel outpost with 3 at-st's and kill them all. anybody else with me?

We're Rangers, we're the Elite, the best of the best. It shouldn't matter who's side of the GCW we're on, we're in a brotherhood that unites us and takes precedence over the Rebel/Imperial faction. The new changes we're getting are great news, but are always brining more into our ranks who aren't "True Rangers." This is a sad day when one Ranger won't train another.

I am sorry that that particular Rebel did not help you and yes, it is a game... It is a Roleplaying game and he does have the right to roleplay that kind of mindset.

You really cannot fault him if that happens to be his playstyle, but I know it does stink as it's happened to myself a number of times... I just curse to myself and try and find another potential trainer, mentally noting the name incase he comes around asking ME for training some day.

Your retaliation to his denial of training is perfectly acceptable as well. Go ahead and stomp his outpost into the ground.

"Son, that bad man is (SOE), and he's **edit**ing your (Star Wars)."

You sound like a little child. You're upset with him because he doesn't play the game the way you do.....so what. He is obviously roleplaying in this mmoRPG.

Ya know' He DOES have the right to roleplay however he wants- just as you have the right to retaliate in kind. Personally, I would never turn away a fellow ranger for training- I bought all of mine except to boxes from the thief in Mos Entha- I train other rangers even though my apprenticeship XP is capped because I like to think of us as a brotherhood- but that's just how I roleplay it. Either way, don't be in a hurry to get bored being a master- I just surrendered my BH skills to become a master CH someday (it somehow seems to fit Ranger better anyway Just had to play devil's advocate- I wish all the best and good hunting to all my ranger brothers (and sisters) out there.

One phrase - Life is not Fair - repeat it until you can remember it.

Ok, the rebel ranger did not train you. And the sky fell, the world shook, and frogs fell from the sky. Anything else bad happen? Did the Ranger Trainer refuse to take your money when you went to him -- what?? you did not go there because it costs money?? Cut me a break. I play on Scylla, Corellia, and right now I have seen ONE master ranger on the entire planet. Not saying that I have been all over, I haven't, but these are the breaks. I have paid for almost all of my training, scout/ranger/pistoleer - mainly because I hate having to find someone to train me. Do I train others - you betcha - been maxed on apprentice pts forever, and no, I do not charge, tho tips are appreciated. I have never refused to train anyone, tho I have refused to answer "shouts" that I deem rude, or if I am on missions I have asked people to wait, or to come to me if I am camping (more xp for me too).

Quit whining, go pay the man.

If you were running around as an overt imp iwould say cheers to the reb ranger... after all this is a rpg... and believe it or not some people role play like myself... to no train a neutral char though is just being rude. I have to admit.. im a reb and when a imp come up to me needing something i have he gets gouged bigger than likfe on prices if i sell to him at all... where as a neutral gets fair market value and a reb gets a nice discount ...i like to roll play thats why i play rpgs of all types. If an imp wants training from me i say no why? Because i dont see luke running oround training jedis for vader.... or Han teaching imps to be better pilots...Brotherhood or not im not gonna train the enemy to use his skills against me later.

Well I'm sorry butI rate the fellowship of Rangers over the enmity of the civil war. During the civil war in the USA Yanks helped Rebs and Vice Versa on many occaisions. Just yesterday while covert in Bestine I had an Imp Novice Ranger ask me for training. I gladly did so and will do so again, in addition we had a very enjoyable visit. Now if we meet on the battlefield I will do all in my power to toast him. To withhold training in a profession as sparsely populated as ours is ATM is just not something I will ever do. Ranger first, Rebel second.

There is no reason to tell someone how he or she should play his or her character, let alone how to roleplay it. To be honest I'll not accept training from an imperial, and likewise won't train one.

I'd rather pay for training with my pocket rather than my principles.

You're post doesn't make sense:

Quote: " ... and i asked a rebel who's title was "trap master" to train me in advanced trapping I. he said because i wasn't a rebel he wouldn't train me ... "

Quote " ... i am neutral btw, just resigned from the rebel faction because it was full of dumb rebels like him ... "

Quote "i don't care how long it takes, i am going to erase those -5000 imperial faction points and become an imperial ... "

So when you asked the guy for training you were a Rebel but now you've resigned to become an Imperial? In essence you were a Rebel andking a Rebel for training.

I think you're just here seeking attention, young person, or some justification of going Imperial to get an ATST.
