Tracking... ben using it all morning, working great for me. whats the matter guys, wanted to have thecritters handed to you on a plate with an apple in the mouth? morons.. Its the basic system, its new code, it will get tweeked, the interface will probly get tweeked. Its a great start.

wayfairing (camo/mask scent) theyjust overlayed an entire new system onto the game for rangers... hmm you think its not going to get tweeked? you bet your a** it will. As we have seen the rangers on test are few and far between. Live with everyone pounding mask scent keys, and now the new conceal key, the hard facts driven by mass people numbers will probly show this needs tweeking. Anyone that opens up thier mouth and cries like a baby has no foresite or scruples for that matter. It is a compleatly new base system that had to get to live to hard test what the biger picture #'s will be. And yes i say this noticing mask scent is acting a little buggy. conceal, i havnt messed with it too much.. im out collecting things from different planets to make some factory crates of the conceal kit. Then ill start testing it in ernist.

This aint your moma's atari game that she lets you out of your room to play every now and then... code takes tweeking, new code especialy. So how about instead of looking like baby's thatare crying becuse they just got theGI-joe with the kung fu grip, instead of the telituby they wanted, grow up and be productive instead of whining.

My compliments to the Ranger Dev guy for this revamp in progress. As this code comes into focus, im sure ill enjoy it more.

PS, those rangers on test, *shrug* dont listen to the guys complaining... allot of us understand its not a silver spoon syndrome over there. Anyone who complains about the test server rangers are just scum.Put up or shut up,personaly im preferingthe latter. Keep up the good work and keep plugging at it *bows*

I agree with you DarkNerf on your post. I was pumped when i saw the new content in the game. Tracking works like a charm and i found it to be very useful. As a programmer myself, i know what it takes to go into a game like this, and this patch was definatley a big one, so obvisouly there will be some bugs here and there.

This is a MMORPG, there really never is an end version of the game. As the game goes through changes, there will be problems, but it dosn't help to complain about it. So Instead of complaing, put your two-cents in, but do it in a maturemanner. Now im not saying everybody is complaing, but i dont think anybody should be. And yea so what if you paid for the game, since when does paying for something ever give you a right to complain? It just makes you look immature, like i said, everyones opinion will be taken into consideration if you take into consideration what it takes to make everything work. There's a quarter of a million people playing this game, and that was as oflast week, you try to make a game that will satisfy them all? I see so much arguing and complaing on this board it almost makes me not even want to come and readit.

Yet there are a few out there who will still be mature about posting their opinion. I dont mind listning to everyones opinion as long as everyone does so in a mature way, not having "this is crap and this is **edit**, and screw this i dont likehow this works, this sucks" on every board. Its not even worth my time. Then if i post my opinion i get flammed because YOU dont like my opinion......yea well if you dont like it, blow.

As for the new camo kits and rangers being self-sufficient, they still are. We have everything we need to go out and survive in the wild. The camo kits are there to make our lives a little easier. Real life rangers need to go somewhere in order to get their supplies, and so do we in the game. If you dont or cantget the resources yourself,go buy them. And like DarkNerf said....Everythings not going to be handed to you on a plate. We gotta put some effort into it. I have a few other characters, and i have experience in each one of the different starting professions, it would be nice for others to have multiple means of making money, and not just one. Sure, each profession should have its own unique way of doing so, but there is nothing wrong with having more ways then one, and i have no problem paying a novice medic or novice artisan for supplies i need.

Anyway, im spent for now, but i would like to know how others feel on the whole issue me and Nerf are discussing. Anyone who has some reasonable, mature, thoughts feel free to post..........if not, we don't want to hear it. Take care and good hunting!!!!

I agree with you guys. I appreciate this patch and what opportunities it holds for Rangers. Yes, some items are a bit bumpy, but they will be smoothed out in time. Besides this is the beginning of the month and many of you have already paid for this month, so allow the month to progress and see what hotfixes come into play based upon your bug reports and opinions.

I mean some of these items where not thought of much before a massive group of people started playing the game. People took notice of the shortcomings and they are attempting to liven up the Skill. I applaud the approach taken, and I await the rest of the month to see how well things have progressed.

In time we will have a Skill and a game that is the best out there, but only if we learn how to state our opinions in a manner that is productive.

See you all in game,

PS. Up until today, the Ranger board was a group of upstanding players. I know there are many out there that have not yet posted since the patch, and I only hope this board returns to the high levels I am accustomed to seeing.

I tend to be a bit negative and pessimistic sometimes (most of you are nodding your heads about now! ), but I like this patch too. The speed with which they got this stuff from the drawing board to the live servers was incredible. Guarantee that a couple hot patches from now, they'll refine it even more.

Once comment though, I would expect that a Ranger could not only harvest the hides/bones/meat needed, but you would think they could also forage the appropriate flora. Just would fit in with the Ranger theme, imho.

Rangers dont complain. We got what we wanted. Is it BUGGY? YEAH... to be expected!!! Just realize Rangers had a lot of thought put into. And all problems will be fixed but be happy... I hate when people beg and wanted the Devs to help us, they do, so there are obvious issues and problems but THEY UPDATED US. So be happy for that and the future updates to fix whats wrong with new skills/abilities.

I think the DEVS did a great job with this patch. I have not heard a single ranger, atleast the original "real" rangers, complain about this game and we get some new features. This really cracks me up. As far as the skills go, I think they are really useful. Before, we were not MAJOR advantages to a group, our camps were our real assets. However, now these skills are both useful for us and other players.

It's obvious that quite a bit of thought went into these ideas and I think the devs did a great job. Keep up the good work!

I agree with all of you...I love the new tracking tool..It helped me snag a few elusive baby pets that I wanted. I do think a few tweaks are needed...but at least we are at the point to say we need some tweaks...then the point where we were asking for anything at all

I Agree too, yes its not perfect, and yes its a great start. Ok, there are some issues which will get ironed out in the long run. I think we should be happy with the amount of effort that has been made to make our profession a lot more useful and fun to play.

Grats ranger dev and ty from *the majority* of the ranger community.

I agree the patch treated the Rangers very well. We get new abilities and lots of xp gain increases, with very little nerfing. I'm happiest that my Mask Scent XP is fixed once more!

Of course, the new content is not perfect yet and needs some tweaking. I'd like to see an extended range for /areatrack, either more charges for camokits or less resource reqs, and to get rid of the Organic Plant component for the camokits or at least change it to something accessable for most rangers like foraged plants or something. I'm confident these issues will be addressed, all I can hope is that it will be soon.

Yes I have to agree, our correspondents have worked very hard with the devs to GET these changes. And it was apart ( I think ) because of the level of maturity in working with the devs.

I think that this is a good patch, and if we keep playing the game and relaying all bugs to the devs that in time they will be worked out.

So lets keep that level that we used to get the devs to look at this class and make these changes. And in time they will fix these problems.

/agree

Great patch. We received a LOT of what we were asking for, and I for one, am very happy. I love the /areatrack, and can't WAIT for the /track specific ability. Mask scent is working waaaay better than it ever has, as I got about 750 scout xp in about 30 minutes running across Dantoinne last night.

My only concern is the fact that while I was on Dantoinne I noticed about 10 massive harvesters up already. Very depressing. But still a great patch!

I agree for RANGERs the patch is really good.

The areatrack is very handy, maskscent breaking does makes thing interesting. I currently have wayfaring IV and go prone around RED MOBS I haven't been broke doing the "BUG Shuffle" around lairs. Get in, tame baby, and get out all on my belly. Maskscent has been broken running by lairs. This does make things interesting

Drawbacks have been mentioned elsewhere and there is no need to cover them here. However, when making my traps I get 0% durabillty -- yet the traps work (which is good)

Can't wait to see the NEW and improved traps
