Thread: Ranger usefulness in corvette
think about an answer that would make you very sad...
there ya go.
Well, I'm a Ranger and considered myself highly useful on the 3 successful attempts we made at the Corvette this weekend (all 3 neutral versions).
Unfortunately I have to admit that none of my actual Ranger skills did anything at all for the group. My TKA skills helped a lot - as the Wookiee, I mainly just kept the targets intimidated and/or knocked down - and I served as the primary looter and secondary group lead. The actual leader was working on SL, so she kept us alive with that, and our smuggler did most of the actual switch flipping, and I just tried to keep everyone coordinated.
So I guess in that respect, I played the part of a Ranger - someone who guides the team through safely. But traps don't hit anything up there, you can't camp, you can't camo and you can't track (not that it would matter up there) so yeah.

Just kidding. though you may find rescue helpful in keeping your doc on his feet.

That's what /taunt is for =)
yeah but if I use /rescue I don't feel like it's a totally worthless addition... that and I'm not a brawler. plus you don't have to think about using a skill with a description that includes "neener neener neener"

You are useful as the "sacrifice" to the killer droid room, you become the "logical" choice sense you have the least to contribute. Happy thought, eh?
Odd... I happened to be the damage dealer in my group. You might be able to guess that we didn't make it very far

Meh, to do the vette, you get naked, go up and make sure you have meditation 4 at least and neutron pixie. LOL
You are right..I forgot all about Meditation. It was nice to not have any wounds, but I was still gettting 1 shot like mad. Also, most of the people in my group stripped down after they lost their buffs (stored everything in their droids). I don't use armor, so I bought some no BE'd clothes for my Corvette runs. That was if the decay, it is no big deal.
I can verify that walking DOES get you aggro'd MUCH less. It's creepy, but you can basically walk anywhere on the ship except for the high-security areas. Sometimes the hallway security jumps you, but they're easy to deal with.

As far as Ranger skills are concerned, I heard if you walk, you get aggroed less. I thought that maybe crawling would be even better. Neither of these theories hold water IMO.
