I so agree. The economy on Naritus is pretty low and I would charge 500k up front and 500k upon find - you do the math

This is a major problem for BHs right now. The main reason I'm even reading these forums is to see if you guys can track on Kashyyyk! I guess I got my answer. ![]()
Please offer you services on Kashyyyk and you will get paid handsomely. But, to be smart about it here is some tips from a BH.
1) We have to be sneaky. So, if you are spamming tracking skills Jedi know who you are so be prepared to have BHs distance themselves from you guys even though we NEED you. You more than likely will get /tells....meet me here....etc... But, there are those who will run right up to you as well (RP/Immersion types vs. Run&Gun types I guess).
3) Smart BHs on a hunt don't usually show signs that they arewho they are. I personally have never worn my BH tags and only pull my BH certified weapons and armor just prior to engagement. Just a heads up if you get a /tell from someone who looks noobish or is wearing aNovice tag.
2) The highest payouts on Jedi right now are around the $220k mark. But, this is for full template knights that most BHs don't hunt solo. Usually solo hunters are hunting between the $215-100k mark. So, I would leave it open for negotiations but, it is your skills and time.
3) Kashyyyk is a new grinding spot because of it's safety for lower level Jedi. Some BHs hunt these and their payout is even lower.
4) Jedi are a whiney breed. Don't be bothered by hate tells from those whose death you have a hand in. Or any hate tells around the shuttleport for advertising your skills. Just add them to your ignore list and keep having fun.
BHs are Scouts at heart. Any older BHs had to master Scout and Markmans before the profession even opened up for Novice. Even today BHs have to have Scout in their build. We are happy for you guys to make credits and I personally am excited that Rangers are actually seeing a demand for their tracking skills. I can't wait to group of and have some fun with any of you on Starsider!
If any of you would like to contact me for work and work from a group of BHs feel free to contact Budhushin in game. Anyone that I pass you on to will be honost and fair. Just remember we ARE the scum of the galaxy and our work is dirty. ![]()

absolutely rediculous. You do understand what bounty hunter missions pay right? It's pretty embarrasing that rangers are that greedy.
I see, so your reasoning is: "devs don't give us what we want, so lets go gauge other players as much as possible. Shaking all the coins out of another player's pockets makes me feel better".
Yea, that'll solve it alright /rollseyes.
If I ever take up tracking again, and it's very likely that at some point I will, I'd be happy to track a Jedi for some reasonable percentage of the bounty, not the whole bloody thing and then some.
But you are right about one thing, there sure are better ways for a bounty hunter to make money. In fact, if a ranger is going to charge a million credits for the service of locating a Jedi, then a bounty hunter can net about 800k more per hour by sitting in a cantina chatting with their friends then hunting Jedi.
Yay! I'm not hunting a Jedi right this moment with the aide of a ranger... suddenly I feel rich.

You do realize that our attempts at reaching the devs go unheard because of the constant conflicts between BH's and Jedi, right?
You do realize that you can do it yourself, right?
You dounderstand that tracking and harvesting are the only things we make our money from, right?
You do understand that BH's can find better ways to make money than killing Jedi, right?

I don't think we should start a flame war about Ranger pricing. Just like any service supply and demand will equal out the price. If someone is undercutting BioEngine then that guy will be making the creds. Bio will be forced to reduce his prices if he wants to make ANY creds.
I posted the tips above so you guys can be informed of the situation and price accordingly. I would love to see more pairing of Rangers and BHs. It only makes since. The guy charging 20k a track or 50k a track is going to be making a lot more credits than the guy charging more than the bounty of the target....cause ain't nobody gonig to use that cat.
In my opinion the ideal situation would be a % of the bounty. But, we know that there are dishonost folks in the world and there is no way atm for Rangers to know the bounty of a BHs target. So, it seems a flat rate per track is ideal.
If any Rangers need more information on BHing feel free to post up or read through the boards. But, having another option to use other players makes my gaming experience a lot more fun vs. clicking a droid and waiting for a waypoint.

If they are Rebel it makes sense, via the Antarian Ranger storyline.
What kind of sense do you mean exactly? Like, Chef relying on Bio-engineer sense, or Rangers having /areatrack player to be able to find and / or fight against players?

Ridiculous? Maybe. Some of us price our tracking relative to how much we don't want the job. If you send a /tell to a ranger saying 'hey d00d, find me the moisture famer/a jedi/a peko albatross/whatever', andwedon't really wanna do it,we may say 'sure, 500k up front,I'll find your mark.' If you say yes, then hey, potentially easy 500k. If you say no, we shrug and get back to whatever we were doing. It's not a question of greed-- we can hunt for truckloads of cash. It's a question of how we'd rather spend our time.
