Is it legal in this game to set up on a static spawn outside a city, and then use an AFKmacro to kill and harvest everything that spawns there all night, while you are asleep in bed?

All I want to know is if these is legal or not.

I am not sure if there has been a definitive answer on the whole AFK thing...the Devs hate it, but they never said if it was 'illegal.' There will be an nerf to recursive macros someday, so the AFK hide harvesters (that is such an inefficient way to get hide) are here to stay for the time being.

I think people mainly do this for loot more than hide, since the animals around cities give such small amounts of jide, or don't have hide at all. Loot kits, however, are in high demand - especially adhesives. However, I will not say they dont do it for the hide. As someone on the dancer forum said, no matter how little money/loot/resources/xp you get while afking, its still more than you would get if you were logged off. When it becomes more profitable to log off (or at least even) rather than go afk, then afking will stop.

The pity about these afk people is that it is the new players - the ones that need these easy spawns - that suffer. Everyone else could care less, and so they don't really see themselves as doing anything wrong. And if they do eventually see it as wrong, they blame the game mechanics for "making" them play this way to justify themselves... uh oh. Don't get me started!

I love the old"the game makes me do it line". I always picture some maniacal torso springing from the monitor, grabbing some poor bastage by the neck, and bellowingout in James Earl Jones' voice, "AFK MACRO NOW OR SUFFER MY WRATH"

I only wish that macrosand the morons that used them were subject to "automatic duel acceptance".

"See that macroer there, wanna bet I can drop him in 5 shots" "I can do it in 4" "Drop that macroer"

I bet a few happy lil trips to the cloner would solve macroing.

Fact is, why is duel acceptance a positive act? Should be unless you say no within a set amount of time, you accept a duel.

JB

until then, steal kills from macroers, what can they do, whine?

So, hasany jackass figured out a macro to set up a camp, tell a droid or pet to attack a nearby critter so as not to disband the camp, harvest the hide or bone, and craft practice camps, while periodically breakingcamp and setting up a new one? 'Cause that would be totally sw33t. If you could figure out a way to work traps in (say by having novice ch so you could have a pet and trapping droid out at the same time), you could master ranger without ever setting foot near your keyboard. Anybody who managed to do that would be so damn c00l, I'd have to retire out of shame for having actually played the game like a moron. Man, I'm such a tool.

If I were a creature handler, the edge of Coronet would be the place to release that unwanted rancor.
