Thread: Taxidermy
Someone posted this on another board and alot of us thought it was a good idea. THink it deserves its own thread. I really love this idea. I really want to stuff a rancor head and put it over my bed

I like this idea a lot as well , things like this are needed to flesh out our proffession and the game in general . The game is SORELY lacking content and little fillers like this would go a long way .
I like the mounted head trophy idea , I also like the entire animal idea . I think the animal should be able to be posed in any position and it should come on a black base that makes it look like something besides an animal just standing in your house . That's what the BE ones look like , and animal that is AFK in your living room . These would be posed and mounted trophies .
Would be much much cooler . What do all of you think ?
Was thinking about this earlier today. Taxidermy would be a great idea.
Once you have the corpse you can stuff it. So instead of harvesting the corpse you choose 'mounting.' When you do your crafting tool opens up. You need some chemicals and what-not for the mounting, might have a critical failure, or it might be succesful. If succesful you can then put a static animal head or even a full body (full body taking more crafting) in your living room.
This would be cool and add some more flavor to the world.
I'd like Eopie head or two, considering all the grief they gave me before I had any real pistol skill. Stupid swarming /mumble grumble grumble cloned so many times...

This would be pretty similar tothe currentfish trophy I suppose. I've seen the fish placed on the walls as trophys and they look pretty cool.But they need to have an easier way to put the trophies high on the wall within a home. Right now, you can only place stuff on the wall through some trickery - as far as I know!
The only problem with Taxidermy that I can see is why would someone buy a stuffed animal if they can get the animated ones from a bio-eng? Just wondering?

Here here! I second that suggestion. I've got 3 species of Corellian fish on my walls, but what I REALLY need is a stuffed rancor. I don't care which profession gets the skill, but I want my taxidermy!
Second,
You still need to use the stairs for the fish.
Right now, there is a temporary solution to the taxidermy issue - use BE'd creatures. If you don't tame them, they are treated like any other object in your inventory.

You can hang anything on a wall. A friend saw my "wall o' fish" and emailed me to check his house out the next time I was online. He'd hung a Rancor up there. Looked odd

Basically, you drop any item you want on the stairs and just /move it around from there.
The rules are:
1/ The item can only be as high as the highest stair (for obvious reasons)
2/ You can only hang items on walls in the same room as the stairs, you cannot move items through doors for some reason
The best items for hanging are fish and weapons. Guns often hang well (Rifles especially, and melee weapons)
...Ooh the possibilities.

It would be very cool to have a peko-peko carpet on my floor or a fambaa skull mounted on my wall.
Is there a way to hang things on the walls now?
And I also think this would be a nice feature for the game as well. Taxidermy kits should be crafted by an artisan but used by Rangers.
