Thread: 20 Dragons spotted in less than 10 minutes is a bit much

So I was logged in with my smuggler character on Starsidertoday and was heading back to my house, which is on the northern edge of the Western Dune Sea. The closest shuttle to my house is Sarlacc City, which is about 2.6km from my house. It use to be a fairly uneventful ride, with the occasional Tusken or Dune Stalker party taking pot-shots at me. Ever since the Krayt spawn increase things have gotten a bit more hazardous.

Since then, up until today, I had been seeing an average of 1 to 3 Krayts between my house and the shuttleport and hadn't even been aggro'ed by any of them. Eventhat seemed likea few too many.Today was a little different. The first one I saw was just outside of the city. No big deal I thought, someone must have drug it along with them as they went to town. The seventh Krayt I saw got me real good andI foundmyself in the Bestine cloner. At least it was a remarkably clean kill as I had no wounds and Bestine was where I had saved my clone data last.

So I gave it another try, this time comingfrom the east.In a span of 5.7km Isaw at least 13 more dragons in the Jundland Wastes. I stopped counting around there. At least this time I managed to avoid any problems and made it home.

Now, I'm not saying that the far reaches of Tatooine shouldn't be dangerous. A wise old man once said 'The Jundland Wastes are not to be traveled lightly'. It shouldn't be a cakewalk to live out there. However, I don't think I should have to run a blockade of horned, scaley death just to go home.

The KraytGraveyard should have a high probability of running to a dragon. Its the one place on the planet that is known to have dragons, therefore it should be exceptionally dangerous. The rest of the planet though? Its a bit excessive. Of course they should be out there, but I shouldn't be able to swing a dead Kreetle and hit 5 dragons with it. I thought these things were supposed to be rare.

Yeah, this had been covered in other posts, but those seemed to cover action in the Graveyard and they were four pages back. I guess Ishouldstop whining now.

Talus is so very nice. We call it the roach motel for Imperial Stormies, they check in and get checked out...permanently.

The fauna is not that bad that you need a squad to trek to the harvestors either. I mean there are some baddies here and there, but not many. BIns and Dralls, both of whom love me, along with the Aqualish are about the only excitement.

But with all the other planets just a short snub fighter ride away, and no waiting on shuttles now, I have to say Talus is about the most overlooked planet.I hope it stays that way.

JB i'll have to send you the waypoint for the most scenic location on Talus. I dropped a hunting lodge there and 5 squatters dropped near me. 4800m from anywhere its so so nice.

I'm loving the fact that there are krayt all over the shop just now.

I was scoping out some waypoints for a guild racecourse (once this new stuff goes Live am looking forward to doing stuff like that 'just for fun').

SW of Espa, about 1.5km or so, theres a nice gorge runs up towards the Jundland Wastes and the Tusken Bunker. Figuring that a bit of canyon chasing would be fun I'd worked a loop that takes in the bunker and the stone circle. Coming back down from there I ran slap dab into the middle of maw and paw krayt out taking their baby krayt for a walk.

I died. Fast. But it was great watching them prowl through the deep crevasses and basking up on the ridge of the canyon.

It was even more fun lying there contemplating the fate of the person that'd littered every flat bit of ground with personal harvesters when they go up to gather their resources.

Sounds like you might need to move. One of the top three creatures in game has become childs play to most people. And on most, if not all servers, there is a town IN the graveyards. This is a joke and defeats the loot they drop. Sorry but this is how it should be.

I hear Dantooines nice this time of year

Hehehe I love it. We have a PA city up close to the graveyard, Krayt Oasis. Since the bloom of Krayts it has been wonderfully exciting. When I wake up (logon) I can hear the Krayts outside my door growling and carrying on. I camo up and go upstairs to check out what the lay of the land is like. Sure the camo will break if an ancient spots me, but I only need that half-second of warning to get away. It has been an exciting time to be a ranger.

Aside from that it has been good for the economy and life of our city. Hunting parties are using the shuttle; repairing busted up vehicles at the garage and buying things fro our vendors. We haven't inflated our prices or anything like that, I feal to do that would drive folks away. Our population count has risen substantially, due to tourist we were able to remove taxxes and other fees. Its nice to hear the merchants griping about HAVING to restock their vendors.

I still get tells from hunting parties asking for help. Sure there might be a bunch of Krayts but some groups only want Giants or Canyons or Juves. The other impact I am hoping this will have is the flooding of the market with krayt tissues. Lower cost Krayt weapons would be a blessing.

I live on Dantooine. It's nice, alright, but there have been entirely too many Dark Jedi about lately. Those make for an exciting commute to the Mining Outpost.

Also, the Empire has landed stormtroopers in our town twice now and i regularly see patrols just outside the city limits. There goes the neighborhood.

Eclipse has a town about within sight of the graveyard, and another that's built up practically to the front door of Fort Tusken. The first time I remember seeing Fort Tusken we had to swoop/bike out there, and it was formidable indeed to be in the middle of the desert, see it looming, and know that you're far, far away from help...

Now the town by Fort Tusken has a buff house and a shuttleport, and the place is ridicuously camped. :smiley-sad: And the battlefield at the start of the Tatooine race track is nothing but dozens upon dozens of harvesters, probably 150 in all, belonging to one person. (To be fair, he was there before they turned the races on.)

I wish they'd had a 1000m no-build area around some of those places. :/

Yesterday I way on Tatooine hunting some Banthas, and these damn Krayts where everywhere. I realy tried to find a place without a Krayt, but it was not possible.13000m away from the Graveyard there where still Krayts. I went to the SE edge of Tatooine and I found Krayt Dragons.
In the past I had problems finding a Krayt, but now I have the problem to find a place without a Krayt. It is realy sad, I think. Krayt Dragons should be rare, and it should be possible to go hunting on Tatooine without finding a Krayt every 100m. If the Krayt population stays this way, Tatooine will become the most dangeorus planet in the whole galaxie.
I realy hope they fix the Krayt problem, so that atleast the Krayts stay in the graveyard, but personaly I would be happy to see Krayts getting rare again.

I too was just out hunting Banthas.. and tracked 2 Ancients with in 130 m of my self. Lot of Banthas there of course. So I'm wacking on the Banthas geting what I need and I see a party roll up and start wooping one of the dragons. They kill him in record time (2 Jedi). Before his corpse even fades away... BAM another right in his place, then another. I watch them do 4 before I leave.

Static spawn, no timer... How is that fun?

Do Jedi need that many pearls? Do LSs decay faster than T21s or something?

And all this while no RIS loot is droping, sigh.

I agree that the spawns are up way too much. The influx of pearls and tissues on the market is insane, say goodbye to prices for premium pearls now everyone is going to want flawlesses
