Well as I sit here and contemplate why I love ranger so much, I thought I'd share with everyone the secret to making crazy money with them.

Over the last 2 weeks on my server, I have been able to earn close to 10m credits.... purely from my harvests of hide/meat/bone.

Never underestimate your ability as a ranger to pull in enough money to make yourself jump from lower-end player to upper class rich.

Pay attention to your trade forums folks, with everyone in the game entirely reliant on buffs, this makes certain resources a goldmine.

Keep tabs on the following:

1. Avian meat of course. Doctors can never get enough of this as we all know it is the primary ingredient in the packs themselves. Keep tabs on the current avian meats in your galaxy. You're looking for a high OQ/PE/DR on these. When there is a good shift on a planet where it is easy to locate Avian, the price for avian meat will be lowered, whereas when Talus or Rori have a good spawn, the price should raise based on the amount you can harvest

2. Herbivore Meat. Used once again by doctors. Since they are a major part of the components for stimpacks and buffs this stuff is yet another goldmine. Hoarde this stuff up whenever there is a good spawn. This time you are looking for high OQ/PE on your meat.

3. Insect Meat: Bio-engineers and Combat medics will pay you handsomely for insect meat. And insect is typically easy to hunt. Not a huge market all the time on this, but its smart to pay attention to these spawns. High OQ/PE/DR for the Combat medics and Im not sure what the BE's need for stats on this. Someone fill this is for us.

4. Carnivore Meat. Chefs will love you. Find a Carn meat with great stats across the board? Lock and load, and grab that stuff until you cant keep your eyes open anymore. Someone who has mastered Chef will be able to fill us in on the requirements

5. Hide. So much hide, such little time. I've found that Wooly and Leathery are what will help you make crazy credits from those Armorsmiths. Remember, Armorsmiths are the richest bunch in the galaxy. They can afford to pay you anywhere from 50-100 cpu for your goods. So find an armorsmith and contract yourself out to them immediately.

So as you can see, in 15 minutes I was able to list 5 different things for you to be keeping tabs on/harvesting. This should keep most of you Rangers busy if you were ever wondering how to turn your Ranger class into a money maker. So dont forget to stock up on your veghash, watch your trade forum for whats hot, and always keep a High tech field base ready just to impress someone.

Happy hunting and happy money making. Remember: You dont have to run missions to make money as a ranger, just run around randomly killing the stuff they need.

Good luck folks

Some people can put down harvesters and get monkeys straight from the ground. Some people have amazing templates that can solo the toughest nightsisters and loot any monkeys they may be carrying.

When Rangers go into the wilderness to tame monkeys, it's long, hard work. It can be done for a few hours, days, weeks... but after a while, most Rangers tend to realise, they don't need massive monkey houses... just a few monkey's hanging about is fine, and when those monkeys have gone, they can go and get a few more monkeys.

Oh my Gawsh!
Thar's gonna be a baby leezard Rangah!.

Great money makers yeah, but should this be our primary purpose?

I personally think not.

Why not cash in while supplying the Galaxy with their needs?

True enough.
I do find that now that I have my last box I intend to get that I am content to walk the earth... like Cain in Kung-Fu. As long as I have enough money to buy tools to continue walking, I'm fine.

So you're a bum? hehe j/k (Pulp ref heh)

I know what you mean though, im happy to hunt and such but i would like the SW ranger type skills to be added that allow me to hunt BUT fullfill imo our primary purpose and thats being rangers not hunters. Pathtfinding, stealth, recon and survival is where its at for me, hunting is another bonus and part of the ranger but i dont think it should be our primary role/purpose.

But yeah we may aswel get rich whilst waiting for the changes

Exactly.

I was more posting this for those who are discouraged at their ranger tree not doing anything for them.

And just on a side note, when you placed your first big tent, was it not the greatest feeling?

The BEST hehe. I realy wish that we got another even more impressive camp at master ranger because nothing realy compared to the satisfaction of getting frontiering 4.

And yeah good idea, i think alot of people are suprised when they start hunting and realise how much money they can/do make.

No, I'll just be Snani, no more, no less. A fitting quoteable exchange considering the topic. :-)

LOL.

I placed my first one outside cnet I would say just short of a year ago. They were still a rare (still are now) thing then. I thikn I had 15 people come check it out. Wish I would have saved all those screenies, they would make some awesome clickies right now. 15-16 people all in mabari or worse, all looking around in awe.

Those were the best of times
