Thread: Antarian Hunters?

I was wanting to start an Antarian Ranger group on my server and notice that most people believe that you have to be a Ranger in order to do this. While I disagree with that thought I do give you guys the respect you deserve so I am thinking of starting the Antarian Hunters. While the A Rangers would help the light Jedi and protect them, the A Hunters would actively hunt down Dark Jedi and kill them while still helping and protecting LJ when possible. What do you all think of this idea?

That's a cool concept-- I hope you can find enough people to form a PA. I wanted to form a sort of Antarian Heretics type group who helped hunt down light jedi, but imperial rangers are in rather short supply on my server. Good luck with that.

We have sense allowed anyone to join. To be pure to the RPG, in fact, you should have 3-4 merchants to every ranger.

THanks for the link, I seen that before but could not find it again. The theory for me behind the Hunters is that they work with the Rangers (both part of same organization) but instead of being the jedi's right hand man they specialize in taking out the dark jedi. In terms of the game, mainly BHs that hunt the bad guys.

I actually am not a Ranger i am a BH, but love this concept. I figure that Antarian Hunters can work along side the Rangers. HOpe it all works out.

An interesting idea. I think I might suggest it to our Antarian Ranger guild on FarStar and see what we think. Thus far the BH have been our nemesis as we try to keep them far from our jedi's door but to integrate them with a view to fighting the dark side could be fun!

Our Antarian Ranger guild is just about dead. I've become the only active guild member. However, the group that we have is still goin, but limpin as well. Actairr, if ya want ya can come check us out. We have our hall based in OM on corellia near 0,0 across from the MSNR guild hall.

I have found that Rangers can be either a bane or boon to a Jedi.
Bane in that we can find them really quickly, while still off their radar, and direct the local "gank squad" to them. Or, if feeling mean, we can zoom in on them and cause them to become visible to the BHs, again, pretty much before they know we are there.
Boon in that we can do the reverse. Let the Jedi hunt, you stay 70m off, don't look, and run /ar to see who is around. Yeah, we get to harvest on the kills, lucky us. And tracking the myriad of animals for them to do for trials is pretty cool too.
Boon to me- Bane to him, in that playing the game means I tell a DJ wanna be I don't track for Imp Jedi. Wonder why he was looking for falumpaset on Corellia anyhow? Should I have told him go to Naboo, or was assuming he knew that assuming too much?
Anyhow, Antarian Rangers can be anyone who want to help the Jedi, and by that I guess they mean the "Not Sith type" aka for game purposes, Dark Jedi.

I'm glad to see more interest in this. I'm starting our faction on Gorath with mixed emotions. BH's laugh and a couple Jedi are all for it.

you cant just hate all BH's, hate the ones that laugh, I am sure there are BHs out there that would join you. OR you could come to Valcyn and join us

Well I think we could possibly use members with some of the BH skills to help "in reconnaissance and covert operations to make the work of the Jedi easier", ie check to see if Jedi we help are on the terminals
Though I'm not sure exactly what work there is for Jedi currently! I would not like 'overt' Bounty Huntersas part of the Antarian Rangers, seeing as there was "a bounty on the heads of the known Rangers". I'm not sure if it was the Antariansjob to actively hunt out and kill, just does not sound very Jedi like to me, and Antarians were supposed to "admire the Jedi Order and wish to uphold its ideals" (yes I know all Jedi do is hunt and kill in SWG but you get my point right?).
